Role description
🚀 The Role This is an amazing opportunity to join one of the UK’s fastest-growing non-alcoholic brands at a hugely exciting stage of growth. You’ll be right at the heart of the action, working directly with our Operations Manager (Jordan) and Growth Marketing Manager (Maddie), while gaining exposure every part of the business and team – from the COO to the Founder. Because we’re a small but rapidly scaling team, you’ll get opportunities to learn, contribute and take ownership far faster than in a larger business. It’s an experience you won’t find anywhere else. But this role isn’t for everyone. We expect a lot – and in return, you’ll grow your career faster than anywhere else. 🌱 Who We Are Mother Root is the Ginger non-alcoholic aperitif. We harness the power of apple cider vinegar to serve up a dose of good feelings. Our mission is to redefine what it means to drink well and feel good, with drinks that are complex, delicious, and rooted in nature. We are bold, inclusive, and ambitious. With our small but mighty team of around 12, we’re building one of the UK’s fastest-growing non-alcoholic brands, both online and in retail. We value creativity, curiosity, and collaboration – and we believe work should be joyful, purposeful, and full of flavour. 🌟 Our Values At Mother Root, our values shape how we work together and how we show up in the world: • Take life curiously – Being curious is at the heart of what we do. It’s about being open-minded, learning more, having fun and celebrating independence. • Create with intensity – There’s a focus that comes with creating bold flavours and sharing joyful content. It’s an intensity that fuels our fire – not one that burns us out. • Root into joy – One of our main goals in life is to find and share joy, because we believe taking pleasure is at the root of health and happiness. 💫 Who You Are You might be a recent graduate with relevant internships or work experience and 2:1 or above, or already have 1–2 years in a similar role. Either way, you’re excited by the idea of joining a fast-growing food & drink brand where no two days are the same, and you’ll thrive in a role that spans both operations and marketing. You’ll thrive in this role if you: • Stay organised and detail-focused – you take pride in getting things right, from fulfilment to data. • Bring initiative and problem-solving energy – you don’t just spot issues, you roll up your sleeves and fix them. • Communicate clearly and proactively – making sure the team stays connected and aligned. • Learn new tools with confidence – you don’t need prior experience in Shopify, Klaviyo or 3PL systems, just the curiosity and adaptability to pick them up quickly. • Stay hungry to learn and grow – you’re genuinely curious about customers, the category, and how to make an impact. 📋 What You’ll Be Doing This role is split roughly 50/50 between operations and marketing. You’ll get stuck into the day-to-day, making sure everything runs smoothly and customers have the best possible experience. 📦 Fulfilment & Supply • Raise and track sample orders, packaging, marketing materials, and finished stock. • Liaise with our 3PL partner on launches, kitting, and packaging changes. • Partner with the Ops Manager to raise raw material orders and monitor supplier timelines. 🗂 Data & Systems • Keep product and SKU information up to date across Xero, Shopify, and our 3PL system. • Ensure data integrity to support reporting and forecasting. 💬 Internal Comms • Share clear, timely updates with the brand and marketing teams. • Help track and communicate tasks that impact operations. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Customer Insights • Analyse surveys and feedback post-launch or campaigns. • Support 2–3 customer calls each week. • Organise and share insights across the team. 🛒 E-comm & Shopify • Upload products and blogs. • Improve content naming and manage routine audits of our website & Amazon presence. 📸 Marketing Support • Help draft content shot lists and manage assets for partners. • Support the email marketing calendar in Klaviyo – learning to build campaigns and eventually owning them. • Help build lists of on-brand influencers and creators to gift to. ➕ Benefits • Annual Leave: 25 days annual leave • Summer Hours: Early finish at 3 pm on Fridays between June and August • Work from Anywhere: Up to 2 weeks a year working remotely from anywhere • Mental Health Support: Access to the Spill app for confidential mental health support • Cycle Scheme: Either a bike or a Lime Pass / Forest Pass scheme • Personal Development: Tuition reimbursement for approved personal development up to £300 per annum • Annual Team Away Trip: Gastronomical/whole-being focused whole team trip for inspiration, team building, and strategy setting • Heka Wellbeing Allowance: £40 monthly budget for all things wellbeing, with birthday and work anniversary boosts • Pension: Match up to 5% • Competitive Maternity/Paternity Leave: Comprehensive support for new parents • Lots of free Mother Root 🔔 Important Information Position: Full-time permanent position starting early October 2025. Salary: £29–34k per annum depending on experience, plus benefits package. Share Options Programme: At Mother Root, we want everyone to feel genuine ownership in the business. This is initially valued at 15% of your salary, with scope to increase over time based on your performance and contribution.
