Role description
Paid Media Assistant
Location: Chester, England (hybrid – 2 days in the office)
Salary: £22,000 + regular reviews
Reports to: Senior Paid Media Manager
Department: Digital Marketing
Why this role matters
We’re Reckless, a problem‑solving, revenue‑driving agency built on big ideas and even bigger teamwork. As our Paid Media Assistant you’ll sit at the beating heart of our Digital Marketing department, helping to launch and optimise campaigns that keep our clients (and their customers) coming back for more. You’ll learn directly from an experienced Senior Paid Media Manager while playing your own vital part in the results we deliver every day.
What success looks like
• Confident campaign owner – you understand our clients’ goals and can talk performance metrics with ease.
• Relentless optimiser – you spot trends early and suggest data‑backed tweaks that push ROAS higher month on month.
• Trusted teammate – designers, content creators and developers know you’ll keep things moving and communicate clearly.
• Growth mindset – you actively seek feedback, share learnings and champion new ideas in team meetings.
How you’ll make an impact
(Key responsibilities)
• Audit client ad accounts to uncover quick wins and longer‑term growth opportunities.
• Support the build of paid media strategies that align channel mix, budgets and KPIs with each client’s objectives.
• Research competitors and platform trends to inform targeting, creative angles and bidding tactics.
• Help maintain Looker Studio dashboards, turning raw data into clear, actionable insight.
• Set up and monitor campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and emerging platforms, adjusting bids, budgets and creative in‑flight to hit targets.
• Partner with our Content & Design teams to brief, review and traffic thumb‑stopping ad assets.
• Join client calls with the Senior Paid Media Manager, contributing updates and next‑step recommendations.
• Create slides, stats and case studies that power new‑business pitches and marketing material.
Skills & experience we’re looking for
• Some hands‑on exposure to paid search or paid social platforms – or the hunger to dive in and learn fast.
• Analytical mindset with the ability (or ambition) to translate numbers into stories and actions.
• A creative thinker, able to contribute to brainstorming sessions and content strategies.
• Comfortable juggling multiple tasks, prioritising effectively and keeping an eagle eye on the detail.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with Looker Studio is a bonus.
• Interest in eCommerce (e.g., Shopify) and a grounding in basic marketing concepts (4 Ps, segmentation, funnels).
Don’t meet every single requirement?
We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive team. If you’re excited by this role but your experience doesn’t line up perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway.
Life at Reckless
• Earn up to 5 extra holiday days with each year of service
• Christmas shutdown (on us!)
• Breakfast butties for new wins & launches
• Company pension scheme + Pick‑and‑Mix benefits
• Conferences, events & training allowance
• Flexi‑time and hybrid working
• Your choice of kit to work on
• Regular team outings – from inflatable pubs to ski trips
• And yes… table‑tennis, Xbox, beer fridge
