Job Overview
The Parts Sales Manager leads a team driving sales of new, used, and aftermarket parts for crane rental, heavy equipment, construction, and upstream oil & gas customers. This role focuses on growing revenue, maximizing margin, managing inventory, and ensuring operational and safety compliance.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
• Lead and expand a high-performing parts sales team supporting rental fleets, construction contractors, and oilfield operations.
• Develop incentive programs tied to revenue growth, fleet uptime, and inventory performance.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service excellence.
Parts Sales Growth & Strategy
• Develop and execute competitive pricing strategies that maximize margin while supporting contractors, oil operators, and construction companies.
• Lead targeted sales campaigns to grow business with rental customers, oil & gas operators, construction contractors, dealers, and international buyers.
• Build strong dealer, rental, and service partnerships to expand aftermarket reach.
• Drive cross-selling initiatives between rental, equipment sales, and service teams.
• Expand aftermarket offerings (rebuild kits, service bundles, maintenance programs) to create recurring revenue and increase equipment uptime.
Used & Salvaged Parts Oversight
• Coordinate dismantling of salvage cranes and heavy equipment to recover high-value parts.
• Ensure proper storage, preservation, and traceability of major components.
• Oversee warehouse operations for used and reconditioned parts inventory.
• Partner with marketing to maintain accurate online listings of used parts.
Operations & Process Support
• Establish KPIs for parts availability, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Support logistics and freight processes to reduce costs and improve turnaround.
• Standardize procedures for order management, warranties, and returns.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and industry safety standards.
Supplier & Vendor Management
• Build relationships with OEM and aftermarket suppliers to secure competitive pricing and exclusive agreements.
• Align purchasing with rental fleet and jobsite demand to balance availability and inventory health.
Technology & Data
• Implement CRM and inventory management systems to support parts sales and aftermarket operations.
• Partner in developing a professional e-commerce platform for online ordering and global reach.
• Track performance through dashboards measuring sales revenue, gross margin, and inventory health.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Distribution, or related field; in lieu of a degree, 12+ years of progressive experience in parts sales, fleet support, or aftermarket operations will be considered.
• 8–10+ years of experience in parts sales or aftermarket operations within crane rental, heavy equipment rental, construction, or upstream oil & gas.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years in a leadership role with a proven track record of building and scaling sales teams.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and organizational skills.
