Role description
Industrial Color is seeking a photography production manager to partner with the Associate Director of Production & VP, LA Studios to manage one of Industrial Color's largest eCommerce production clients. In this role you will oversee production workflow inclusive of pre-production, project estimation, casting, style outs, shoot, post-production, and billing. As the Photography Production Manager you will maintain the day to day studio operational needs at a satellite studio location. This requires exceptional organizational and communication skills while balancing client management and supervising a production team of 3/4 individuals. This role is an onsite position in our satellite studio in Los Angeles. Additional responsibilities include: • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure the studio is running efficiently and as needed for all productions • Manage day to day project management and project statuses of all productions at any given point and ensure timeliness of all production milestones • Oversee communication around project requirements and proactively manage risks and expectations internally as well as client facing. • Review and maintain account & production budget. Implement cost savings measures when applicable • Manage key account & production metrics, providing reporting to clients as needed and circulating with internal teams to drive optimization. • Create project plan & shoot schedules for each production season based on SKU assortment, productivity, casting and creative needs. Identify appropriate crew and production approach that works within budget, client specs and IC best practices • Establish and optimize internal production tools and processes, to strengthen the production team and allow for scalability, growth and diversity of projects. • Facilitate team collaboration + communication and ensure that the team adheres to required tasks + deadlines, client expectations and workflows. Allocate proper resources and support for cross coverage training, PTO, volume spikes, etc • Continually brainstorm ways in which the production team can enhance our services, streamline our workflows and elevate our output to our clients. • Work closely with the client to ensure that their creative vision is being executed properly and consistently across multiple on figure and tabletop sets per day. • Curate and onboard pool of creatives and talent for upcoming shoots, and ensure client approval and alignment. Grow our network of IC freelancers in all categories such as photographers, hair/make-up, styling, art direction, casting, etc. • Serve as main client contact in order to build strong relationships to create trust and allow for our clients to expand their services with IC • Must be able to keep up with content / production trends and new solutions / technology to maintain IC's position as a leader within the industry. Requirements • 5+ years of experience in managing a range of project types including e-commerce, campaign photography & video, social media shoots and post-production • Experience in management of team members within a photo studio or creative operations setting • Must be able to pick up on new technologies and workflows quickly • Must be agile, detail oriented, and a self starter, with the ability to multitask • Ability to make timely production decisions and stay calm under pressure • Must be able to assume a leadership role, while still maintaining a collaborative approach with the larger team at IC • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to lead internal and client facing meetings. Benefits The anticipated salary range for this role is $95,000 - $123,000 annually. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.
