Role Overview
The Planner will provide key data and analytics of performance for our partner brand. Utilizing product performance data, the Planner will provide information to support successful growth and profitability.
Responsibilities
• Creating and maintaining a 13-month rolling forecast; minimizing excess inventory
• Work closely with the VP of Planning to ensure all opportunities and liabilities are addressed
• Set top line revenue targets and provide financial planning guidance for all buys to ensure proper penetration by product category
• Partner with Sales Director to ensure forecasts support the retail, ecommerce and wholesale financial flow
• Make additional recommendations to address product gaps and/or discrepancies
• Monitor ongoing demand planning and inventory needs for retail, e-commerce, and wholesale business
• Serve as the team lead for reporting, including weekly top-line selling performance
• Compile style/color/size-level selling data for use in merchandising and inventory planning exercises
• Provide ongoing analysis and review using the open-to-buy as a guide
• Work closely with cross-functional partners (sales, design, and production) to forecast sales, inventory, revenues, returns, promotions, markdowns, etc.
• Instrumental in forward budget planning using the open-to-buy metrics
• Identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy, establish action plans, and maintain high in stocks
• Manage budget process including product mix, budget category ratios and flow by month, including monthly forecasts of key replenishment programs
• Manage inventory from investment through execution, including ongoing assessments and updates to inventory levels for retail, ecommerce, and wholesale businesses, models, release strategies, and recommendations of future receipts
• Develop and execute size, pack, and color balancing strategies
• Partner with other functional areas such as the Warehouse and Information Technology teams on processes, systems, and reporting as required
• Monitor DSV process
• Ensure volume is close to commitments, styles are turned on for orders, and inventory feed is working properly
• Send reorder checklist with SKU details
• Work with partner buyer to execute end of season clear out buys to avoid aged inventory
• DSV scorecard monitor and update team on performance
• Responsible for e-commerce OTIF
• Monitor inventory levels and review for re-orders for basic items (for example we are out of 2 items in the avia zip front bra)
• Own internal monthly financial FCST and weekly projections; call out any risk or opportunity
• Order pivot accuracy / ensure goods pointing to correct warehouse; monitor on time shipping and incoming WIP ETAs; partner with warehouse teams on PO status & communicate with partner
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in merchandise planning and allocation
• Retail Math proficiency a must
• Women’s apparel experience a plus
• Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel
• Team player and problem solver in a demanding deadline driven environment
• Motivated, proactive, and highly organized
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to reach supported conclusions and make robust recommendations
• This a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Bentonville, AR office
