Role description
Overview
Mailchimp is on a mission to become the most powerful and extensible marketing platform for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs). As the Principal Product Manager for Integrations, you will lead our multi-vertical integration strategy — defining and launching deeply embedded, bi-directional integrations that unlock value across priority industries like Bookings, Events, CRM, Loyalty, and more.
You’ll drive the roadmap for how Mailchimp becomes the global AI-powered marketing engine for our users by stitching together critical data from external platforms into our customer engagement engine. This role combines high-level strategy and hands-on execution, reporting directly into the Group PM and partnering with engineering, data, partnerships, and design teams.
What you'll bring
• 8–10+ years of product management experience with a strong focus on technical integrations, APIs, or platform extensibility.
• Proven success building integrations and ecosystem partnerships in martech, e-commerce, or adjacent verticals.
• Strong technical fluency — understanding of REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, scopes, rate limiting, observability, data models, and sandbox/test environments.
• Strategic thinking balanced with a bias toward execution; you can shift between 30K-foot vision and 3-foot specs with ease.
• Experience with vertical SaaS platforms and a working knowledge of integration best practices.
• Passion for developer experience and customer-centric design — you think in terms of delight, onboarding, and scale.
• Ability to translate integration capabilities into business value and partner-facing narratives.
• Exceptional collaboration skills across engineering, data, legal, GTM, and external partners.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
How you will lead
• Own the multi-vertical integration strategy, from ideation to launch, aligned to Mailchimp’s FY26 platform growth strategy.
• Define and prioritize vertical-specific data models and API integration requirements across a wide array of verticals (Events, Bookings, CRM, Reviews, Loyalty, Shipping, Blogs, Donations, and Restaurants).
• Partner with engineering to build scalable ingestion and activation pipelines that power use cases like segmentation, automation, and personalization and more.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Engineering, Product, Design, Go-to-Market, and Partnerships to drive adoption and measurable customer success and business impact from integrations.
• Re-Design the activation architecture allowing for a much more efficient, scalable process to activate data across Mailchimp’s platform.
• Measure integration impact via core metrics ensuring continued improvement on our end to experience.
• Lead cross-functional execution for vertical launches across our most strategic partners while also adding scale through fast-follow integrations.
