Role description
This role supports a multi-brand eCommerce business, with products competing head-to-head with the likes of Dyson, Shark, and Samsung. With £100M+ in annual revenue and a presence in over 15 countries, this is one of the most successful digital-first consumer businesses in Europe — owning multiple best-selling brands in the home, lifestyle, and personal care space. If you’re a writer with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for making products clear, helpful, and easy to use, this role offers far more than a standard technical author position. You’ll work across a broad, creative, and meaningful scope of work that directly shapes how millions of customers experience products. Why this role? Most technical author roles focus solely on internal manuals and procedural documentation. Here, you’ll have a hand in much more — helping to craft engaging, customer-first content across instruction manuals, product listings, box artwork, and even sales copy for websites. You’ll work closely with teams across product, marketing, design, and compliance, giving you a say in how content supports the brand, the product, and ultimately the customer. Your work won’t sit on a shelf — it’ll be central to how the business competes with some of the biggest names in the market. What you’ll do: • Write and edit customer manuals, product sheets, box artwork, and internal documentation. • Produce clear, engaging sales copy for websites, product pages, and marketing channels. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver consistent, on-brand content. • Manage translation and artwork timelines, ensuring nothing is missed. • Suggest and implement ideas to improve how customers understand and enjoy products. What we’re looking for: • 1–2 years’ experience in technical authoring, documentation, or content writing. • The ability to write clearly, concisely, and with a customer-first mindset. • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. • Confidence to juggle priorities and meet tight deadlines. • Creativity, curiosity, and the initiative to improve processes and outputs. • Awareness of compliance needs and brand tone of voice. What’s on offer: • A genuinely broad and impactful writing role, blending technical accuracy and creativity. • The chance to see your work used by millions of customers worldwide — shaping their experience from unboxing through to daily use. • A role that values your ideas and input, with scope to influence beyond your immediate briefs. • A collaborative team culture in a fast-growing, ambitious company competing at the top of its category. • Clear opportunities to develop your career as the business continues to grow globally.
