Full-time Description The Product Management Innovation Lead plays a pivotal role in accelerating Comfort Research’s innovation capacity by leading thinking on new innovation from both more disruptive internal development and sourced products. This role is instrumental in identifying new product opportunities, enabling faster speed-to-market, and expanding our category portfolio beyond internally developed products. By leveraging external sourcing partnerships, this role allows the company to test, learn, and scale new ideas quickly—ultimately driving growth, profitability, and competitive advantage. Here's What You'll Do • Demonstrate the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks, and interactions with others. • Lead efforts to identify and source finished goods from global suppliers that align with strategic growth areas and emerging trends. Use external sourcing as a vehicle to rapidly bring new and innovative products to market. • Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitive gaps to uncover high-potential product categories for expansion through imported finished goods. • Partner with Product Development to complement internal innovation with externally sourced products, ensuring a balanced and agile approach to product portfolio growth. • Coordinate internal resources and vendors for flawless execution of assigned projects. Track progress, manage risks, and adjust plans to address challenges. Communicate project status regularly with leadership. • Build and manage detailed business cases and profitability models for direct import products. Ensure imported items align with e-commerce pricing and margin strategies. • Drive fast learning cycles and product launches by removing traditional development bottlenecks. Use direct import capabilities to test new concepts and quickly scale successful products. • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Marketing to align sourcing initiatives with go-to-market strategies, category objectives, and brand standards. • Work directly with global supplier partners to evaluate finished goods opportunities. Ensure suppliers can meet product requirements related to quality, compliance, and brand positioning. • Contribute to long-term category growth planning by identifying strategic sourcing opportunities that diversify the portfolio and increase speed to innovation. • Support the Sales team in shared goals and initiatives. • HAVE FUN! • Other duties as assigned by leadership. This position is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week on-site at our office located at 1719 Elizabeth Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. The remaining workdays can be completed remotely, providing a flexible balance between in-office collaboration and remote work convenience. Candidates should be within commuting distance of our Grand Rapids location. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field • 5+ years of experience in product development, product marketing, project management, or e-commerce. • Demonstrated understanding of the role imported finished goods can play in accelerating product development and market expansion. • Proven analytical skills and experience building business cases and profitability models. • Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to lead without authority. • Excellent communication skills and comfort working with external partners and global suppliers. • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action, speed, and continuous learning.
