Role description
We are seeking a technically savvy product owner with a passion for shaping the direction and success of our product offering. The Sr Product Owner plays a pivotal role in our dynamic e-commerce team, taking the lead on multiple and intricate product features as they journey through the phases of roadmap creation, design and development. In this high-impact position, you’ll collaborate closely with our product managers to craft innovative features that our customers will love. You’ll also actively contribute to shaping our platform strategy, ensuring we stay ahead in the market.
The Sr Product Owner is responsible for the internal, day-to-day management of the product(s) and for defining and managing release plans in alignment with product strategy. Your close partnership with product stakeholders, including our Product Owner Lead, will create detailed specifications that fuel our development teams. You’ll be the voice that conveys the value that a feature or solution brings to our technical teams.
Essential Functions (Major Duties)
• Work in partnership with Product Manager and Product Owner Lead to draft, manage and maintain a roadmap based upon product and release strategy.
• Responsible for creating and facilitating feature requirements, user stories and user interface design changes while working with technical team to ensure readiness for development.
• Gather input from Product Manager and key stakeholders in order to refine, prioritize, and maintain product backlog.
• Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business requirements into Product Backlog Items.
• Define acceptance criteria and ensure successful delivery of product increments.
• Ensure solutions meet the product requirements and the overall product health.
• Utilize SQL to analyze data and define product requirements based on insights from data analysis.
• Participate in sprint demonstrations, gather feedback from stakeholders, and approve or reject sprint deliverables.
• Partner with Product Manager to provide input on timing and readiness of planned production releases.
• Coordinate and assist with product release issues across stakeholders and with development team.
• Identify and manage risks at the release and development team level.
• Participate in (and in some cases lead) daily stand-ups, refinement, story review, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Provide customer production issue escalation assistance and oversight to ensure resolution.
• Ensure that training content is created and delivered for new product functionality.
Additional Functions
• Identify and facilitate cross-functional product initiatives to implement best practices and drive cross product usage and adoption for common functionality.
• Mentor product owner team members to mature overall product function.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar technology-related role that includes process/product design, project/product planning, and decision-making authority.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced changing environment -- multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
• Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
• Strong organizational, attention to detail and task follow-up skills. Adept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner and meeting assigned deadlines.
• Ability to gather, synthesize, and create action plans based on feedback from multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrated thought leadership in the Product Owner space, with ability to use expertise to influence and align stakeholders and manage upward.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience managing product backlog and sprint planning through Azure DevOps, ensuring seamless tracking and collaboration.
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, querying, and reporting.
The projected hourly range for this position is $60-70/hr.
