The Retail Coordinator is an essential member of Cheekwood retail leadership team, supporting the retail manager in both the operational and customer-facing functions of Cheekwood’s retail department. The Retail Coordinator is responsible for product receiving, inventory, and e-commerce while also assisting with daily store operations, sales floor coverage, and staff support. The Retail Coordinator ensures smooth back-of-house processes and excellent front-of-house service, working closely with Cheekwood employees, vendors and guests. Responsibilities Store Coverage & Sales Leadership β€’ Provide leadership and customer service on the sales floor, assisting customers and supporting sales associates. β€’ Cover stores as needed, including lunch breaks, weekends, evenings, events, and peak seasons (e.g., Holiday Lights). β€’ Assist with opening/closing procedures and daily operations in the gift shops β€’ Support sales tracking, KPIs, and staff coaching to meet individual and departmental sales goals. β€’ Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure stores reflect Cheekwood’s quality and brand. β€’ Assist Retail Manager communicating with sales associates regarding policies, updates, and Cheekwood events. Inventory & Operations β€’ Receive shipments in a timely manner and verify accuracy of packing slips and invoices. β€’ Enter purchase orders and receive merchandise into the inventory system; create product descriptions, categorize, and price items. Work with retail manager to ensure pricing accuracy, competitive markups, and profitability while accounting for discounts and promotions. β€’ Track order status and maintain detailed logs of shipments, backorders, and vendor receipts and invoices. β€’ Partner with accounting to code invoices and monthly credit card charges in a timely manner β€’ Manage all inventory adjustments, including transfers, damages, and consignment orders. β€’ Complete monthly Inventory reports and maintain an efficient end-of-month process. β€’ With oversight from retail manager, plan and execute physical inventory annually. β€’ Maintain a clean, organized stockroom; ensure accurate backstock and timely stock rotation. β€’ Manage and maintain the e-commerce site, including product photography, descriptions, and fulfillment of online orders. Staff Support & Training β€’ Assist in onboarding, training, and mentoring sales associates. β€’ Provide ongoing guidance on sales techniques, customer service, and retail operations. β€’ Be a resource for staff regarding product knowledge, pricing, and inventory procedures. Requirements β€’ Retail leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred. β€’ Inventory management, receiving, or administrative experience preferred; experience with purchase orders, invoices, and reporting strongly preferred. β€’ Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint); comfort with using inventory and point-of-sale systems. β€’ Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. β€’ Strong written and verbal communication skills. β€’ Ability to manage and maintain an e-commerce site, including product photography, descriptions, and online order fulfillment. β€’ Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with diverse staff, volunteers, vendors, and customers. β€’ Ability to provide leadership and coaching on the sales floor to support associates in reaching sales goals. β€’ Flexible schedule – must be available to work 32–40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasons. β€’ Physical ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/move up to 40 lbs. β€’ Willingness to occasionally work outdoors in a retail booth setting.
