Role description
Duties Summary The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is seeking a Retail Coordinator to support the Capitol Visitor Center (CVC) Retail Division. The Retail Coordinator is responsible for retail planning, merchandising, visual presentation, administrative functions, contract surveillance support, and store operational support for the CVC’s gift shops, e-commerce, and food operations. Requirements Qualifications You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-08 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Coordinating retail operations, including merchandising, promotions, and inventory management. Supporting contract oversight activities (e.g., monitoring vendor performance, maintaining compliance logs). Utilizing financial or point-of-sale systems to compile data and prepare reports. Performing administrative functions, such as preparing purchase orders, managing schedules, and processing timekeeping. Providing customer service and cash handling responsibilities in a retail environment.
