Position Overview
The Retail Director is responsible for leading the retail business strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and driving revenue growth across all store locations. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership, financial acumen, and a passion for creating elevated client experiences that align with the brand. The Retail Director will oversee day-to-day operations, optimize profitability, implement innovative clienteling initiatives, and build long-term relationships with both clients and employees to foster sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Business Development
• Design and implement employee and client retention strategies to drive customer loyalty and business development.
• Lead initiatives that elevate the customer experience, including VIP programs, selling ceremonies, and tailored clienteling strategies to improve Net Promoter Score and overall customer satisfaction.
• Expand market presence through partnerships with local leasing markets, E-commerce integration, and new business opportunities.
Operational Excellence
• Ensure streamlined communication across retail locations to enhance collaboration, efficiency, and alignment with brand standards.
• Oversee and lead POS migrations, inventory management system upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives to improve operational capabilities.
• Standardize policies and procedures across all locations, ensuring compliance and consistent execution of brand standards.
Financial & Strategic Management
• Oversee Retail Profit & Loss statements, driving financial performance through revenue optimization, cost reduction, and achieving budgetary goals.
• Partner with planning and finance teams to develop quarterly EBITDA forecasts, as well as annual and five-year strategic financial plans to ensure long-term fiscal health.
• Monitor and evaluate retail sales performance, consistently achieving or surpassing sales targets and projections.
Client & Employee Engagement
• Build creative and strategic engagement opportunities for high-value clients, ensuring a luxury experience aligned with brand positioning.
• Launch innovative clienteling programs to strengthen long-term relationships and increase customer lifetime value.
• Mentor, motivate, and retain top retail talent, ensuring a high-performance culture focused on excellence and growth.
Qualifications & Skills
• 10+ years of progressive retail leadership experience, preferably in luxury or premium fashion.
• Proven track record of exceeding retail sales targets, driving profitability, and managing P&L.
• Strong experience with POS systems, inventory management platforms, and leveraging E-commerce data to inform business strategies.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive operational excellence.
