Position Overview
The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans across multiple channels, including ecommerce, brick-and-mortar retail, and distribution partners. This role requires a strong understanding of the tabletop games ecosystem and the ability to build long-term relationships with accounts worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
• Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to each channel: ecommerce, hobby retail, mass retail, and international distribution.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to align sales goals with product releases, seasonal promotions, and demand planning.
Channel & Account Management
• Manage and grow a portfolio of domestic and international accounts, including distributors, retailers, and key online partners.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with buyers and partners in the hobby and mass market channels.
• Understand and manage the relationship between Kickstarter strategies and other channels.
International Sales & Distribution
• Expand and maintain relationships with global distribution partners; coordinate regional sales efforts to ensure market fit and inventory availability.
• Monitor international performance and adapt strategies to meet local market demands.
Ecommerce & Retail Optimization
• Partner with ecommerce platforms and retailers to improve sales performance, merchandising, and promotional campaigns.
• Monitor DTC and marketplace metrics to drive growth, reduce friction, and enhance the customer experience.
Forecasting & Reporting
• Provide accurate forecasting, budgeting, and sales reporting to leadership.
• Track KPIs and sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Collaboration & Communication
• Serve as a liaison between creative, marketing, logistics, and production teams to ensure seamless product launches and replenishment cycles.
• Participate in trade shows, conventions, and industry events to support brand visibility and business development.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the tabletop games, toys, or entertainment.
• Proven success managing multi-channel sales strategies (retail, ecommerce, distribution, international).
• Existing relationships with key distributors and retailers in the tabletop gaming space is a strong plus.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and account management skills.
• Familiarity with global logistics, export requirements, and regional market dynamics.
• Self-motivated, analytical, and results-driven with a deep passion for board games and geek culture.
• Proficiency with CRM tools, spreadsheets, and sales forecasting software.
Salary Range (US-based)
• Base Salary: $70,000 – $85,000
• On-Target Earnings (OTE): $85,000 – $105,000+ with bonuses/commission.
