Company Overview
My 1st Years is the UKβs largest baby and child personalisation brand, offering premium personalised gifts across three core routes to market:
1. Direct-to-Consumer via our online website (sale and fulfilment direct to customer)
1. Online Retailers (sale taken by retail partner, order fulfilled by us direct to customer)
1. Physical Retail Stores (orders taken and personalised in store)
We are now expanding our footprint into the Gulf Region, and are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to lead this growth and build a high-performing regional operation.
Role Summary
The Sales Manager β Gulf Region will be responsible for launching, managing, and scaling the My 1st Years brand across the Gulf.
The role requires a hybrid skillset: strategic sales leadership to open and grow retail channels, and operational acumen to manage ecommerce, fulfilment, and in-store execution.
This person will treat the Gulf region as a business unit, accountable for achieving revenue goals of $1M, $3M, and $5M in Years 1, 2, and 3 respectively, with full P&L and team leadership responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Sales Development
β’ Define and execute a 3-year growth strategy across D2C, online retail, and physical store channels
β’ Lead negotiations and onboarding with major regional online retailers (e.g., Amazon.ae, Mumzworld, Noon)
β’ Secure physical retail partnerships and manage ongoing sell-in, sell-through and sales reporting
β’ Build the regional My1stYears.ae ecommerce channel, optimised for conversion and customer experience
Operations Management
β’ Oversee logistics partner fulfilment operations in Dubai South including pick, pack, personalisation and dispatch
β’ Plan and manage inbound logistics from China and UK for regional inventory
β’ Lead technical setup and operational launch of in-store personalisation (machine installs, POS, training)
β’ Ensure SLA compliance for delivery speed, product quality, and customer satisfaction
Visual Merchandising & Retail Execution
β’ Work with UK brand team to adapt merchandising for local markets
β’ Oversee store displays and VM execution in physical retail partners
β’ Monitor retail performance and improve in-store customer engagement
Team Management & Budgeting
β’ Build and lead a lean regional team including sales and operations assistant(s)
β’ Manage regional budget including travel, marketing, and hiring
β’ Submit quarterly board reports covering sales, margin, costs and future growth recommendations
Skills & Experience
β’ Strong sales and business development background in consumer or baby/kids products
β’ Demonstrated experience launching or scaling a brand in the Gulf region
β’ Knowledge of online and offline retail landscapes in UAE, KSA, Qatar and broader GCC
β’ Ability to manage ecommerce websites and third-party retail accounts
β’ Experience in warehouse/fulfilment or ecommerce operations management
β’ Commercially astute with strong negotiation, analytical and reporting skills
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication; Arabic a plus
