Position Summary A high-growth, design-driven U.S. retailer is seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to own end-to-end product strategy, financial performance, and vendor partnerships for a multi-million-dollar Home & Lifestyle business. The role shapes assortment architecture, collaborates with cross-functional partners on financial planning, and leads a small team of buyers/assistants to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions across stores and e-commerce. --- Key Responsibilities Β· Assortment Strategy β€” Define category vision, architecture, good-better-best mix, and innovation targets; balance private-label and national brands. Β· Financial Ownership β€” Partner with Planning on sales, margin, and inventory targets; analyze KPIs and adjust pricing, promotion, and flow to achieve goals. Β· Vendor Management & Negotiation β€” Source, onboard, and nurture vendor relationships; secure optimal cost, terms, exclusivity, or first-to-market opportunities. Β· Product Development Collaboration β€” Work with PD/Design teams to introduce proprietary SKUs that fill assortment gaps and drive differentiation. Β· Cross-Functional Partnership β€” Align with Visual, Marketing, and Digital teams on in-store presentation, online merchandising, and promotional cadence. Β· Leadership & Talent Development β€” Coach Associate and Assistant Buyers; set clear objectives and create a culture of accountability and innovation. Β· Process & Data Integrity β€” Oversee item set-up and maintenance in ERP/merch systems; ensure compliance with company standards and vendor policies. Β· 5+ years of progressive buying/category-management experience in multi-unit retail or direct-to-consumer. Β· Proven P&L accountability with track record of delivering sales and gross-margin growth. Β· Strong negotiation skills and vendor-relationship management. Β· Proficiency in retail math, Excel, and merchandising/ERP systems; familiarity with forecasting and analytics tools. Β· Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams. Β· Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional influence skills.
