Role description
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Manager on a fixed term contract basis to be responsible for the overarching marketing strategy of our supporters' experience within our app; from acquisition of new supporters to engaging and retaining them once theyβre in our digital ecosystem.
In this exciting position, you'll play a crucial role in defining how we drive transactions through personalised offerings across content, product and experiences.
Who We Are
We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success β read more about our history, here.
Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).
Your day-to-day
β’ Deliver the digital experience marketing strategy - you'll design and implement a season-long, app-centred digital marketing strategy that's focused on supporter acquisition and retention, maximising engagement and revenue whilst guiding supporters through the marketing funnel
β’ Act as an inspiring leader - you will relish the opportunity to lead, inspire and coach a team of direct reports, identifying learning and development opportunities, fostering a high-performance culture, acknowledging achievements and managing performance
β’ Build and maintain an understanding of supporters - you will develop a thorough understanding of supporter segments to create targeted digital campaigns, and you'll create strategies to enhance long-term supporter loyalty and engagement through personalised offers and exclusive content, focusing on actions that deepen connections and sustain commitment
β’ Manage roadmaps and content plans - you'll oversee the monthly digital supporter roadmap and cross-functional content plans for each supporter segment, ensuring delivery of personalised content, products and experiences, and you'll collaborate with our Digital Platforms team in incorporating supporter insights into the app's product roadmap to boost engagement and refine our understanding of supporter needs
β’ Establish collaborative relationships with our Commercial department - you will proactively build impactful relationships with our Retail, Partnerships and Venue teams to link digital supporter marketing with other critical revenue-driven areas
β’ Partner with our Digital and Insights team - you'll work with colleagues to establish automated supporter journeys through the supporter data platform, and to pinpoint strategic improvements for in-app conversion and supporter sentiment, including setting up dashboards, KPI reporting and tracking performance metrics to enhance the overall app experience
β’ Align with our Content and Paid Media teams - you will coordinate closely with our Content team and outline requirements for short and long-form content to provide a cohesive digital experience across all touchpoints, and you'll work closely with the Paid Media team to embed supporter segment insights into targeted ad campaigns, optimising for engagement and conversion rates through data-driven audience targeting
β’ Track results and celebrate successes - you'll eagerly develop cross-functional KPIs for the supporter experience across all Marketing and revenue driven departments, providing progress updates, addressing challenges and celebrating achievements with our wider club
What We Are Looking For
β’ Proven track record in a digital-first business - you come with a history of working within a digital app-first business and experience and demonstrable knowledge of owning digital customer roadmaps for high profile brands, either client or agency side
β’ Inspiring leader - you take pride in providing dedicated line management to direct reports and prioritising their growth and development, championing an entrepreneurial spirt and a desire to innovate to achieve winning results
β’ In-depth knowledge of user acquisition and retention - you possess expertise across digital user acquisition channels and you've previously driven acquisition and retention across multiple markets, specifically in the UK and US
β’ Experience working closely with digital Product Development teams - you're well versed in collaborating with product focused colleagues to feed into their roadmaps based on campaign performance and insights
β’ Best-in-class stakeholder management skills - you easily build and uphold exceptional relationships and you're able to bring people on the journey and make quick, smart, data-led commercial decisions
β’ Data-first approach - you are confident with data and analytics and able to make key decisions based on data and insights
β’ Organised and adaptable mindset - you're unfazed by working in a fast-paced digital environment and comfortable managing multiple projects concurrently
