As we continue to introduce new products and expand into digital channels, we’re looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Manager of Business Development to help drive the next phase of our growth. Position Overview The Senior Manager of Business Development is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing Rockmount’s business development strategy. You will lead efforts to generate new customers, re-engage aged accounts, develop key dealer and distribution partnerships, and drive expansion into new sales channels—including eCommerce and digital platforms. You will play a pivotal role in new product commercialization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful launches and market adoption. As a senior leader, you will interact regularly with the executive team, have access to best-in-class sales tools such as ZoomInfo, and serve as a key ambassador for Rockmount in the market. In this role, you will embody Rockmount’s dedication to solving the world’s toughest maintenance challenges by driving innovative solutions and fostering strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities • Strategic Leadership: Develop, communicate, and execute a comprehensive business development strategy in alignment with company growth objectives. • New Customer Acquisition: Oversee and drive the process of identifying and securing new customers and markets, leveraging advanced sales tools and creative outreach. • Dealer & Channel Development: Build and deepen relationships with key dealers, distributors, and digital partners. Optimize performance across all sales channels, including direct, dealer, eCommerce, and Amazon. • New Product Introduction: Participate cross functionally in the go-to-market strategy for all new product launches. Collaborate closely with product development, technical sales, and marketing to maximize market awareness and adoption. • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing business development team as Rockmount scales. • Performance Management: Establish KPIs, analyze results, and present regular performance updates to executive leadership. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Technical Sales Director, marketing, and operations to align business development efforts with company-wide initiatives. • Brand Representation: Represent Rockmount at industry events, trade shows, and customer engagements—building relationships with everyone from welders to senior executives. Lead the strategy for digital sales growth, including optimizing eCommerce platforms, managing and growing the company LinkedIn page, and leveraging data analytics to enhance customer acquisition and retention. • CRM & Sales Tools Ownership: Own the company’s CRM system and ZoomInfo platform, establishing best practices for data management, reporting, and pipeline hygiene. Develop and document procedures for usage, onboarding, and ongoing training of other team members. Ensure accurate data entry, lead tracking, and activity logging to drive e?ective sales processes and high-quality reporting. Champion adoption of digital sales tools across the business, regularly reviewing tool performance and leading continuous improvement initiatives. First 90–180 Days: What Success Looks Like • Build Relationships: Meet with key customers, internal team members, industry influencers, and stakeholders to understand Rockmount’s business, values, and market presence. • Product & Market Immersion: Quickly get up to speed on Rockmount’s product portfolio, customer profiles, and value proposition in the maintenance and welding industries. • Assess & Strategize: Analyze existing sales channels, CRM data, dealer performance, and new business opportunities; develop a prioritized business development strategy and action plan. • Dealer Engagement: Re-energize relationships with existing dealers and proactively reach out to prospective partners, initiating meaningful conversations and identifying early wins. • Digital Presence: Take ownership of the company’s LinkedIn page and digital sales channels, ensuring consistent, on-brand communication and supporting lead generation efforts. • Sales Tools Leadership: Establish CRM and ZoomInfo best practices, ensure data hygiene, and train team members for maximum effectiveness. • Early Wins: Identify and pursue quick-turn opportunities—whether new customer acquisitions, reactivations, or digital channel improvements—that demonstrate tangible impact. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in business development or sales leadership will be considered. An MBA or advanced degree is advantageous but not required. • 4-6 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or channel management—preferably in the industrial, manufacturing, or distribution sectors. • Demonstrated success developing and executing growth strategies and go-to-market plans. • Experience managing and closing short sales cycles (quick-close sales environments) as well as more complex, multi-step sales processes. • Proven leadership experience with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams. • Strong knowledge of digital sales channels, CRM systems, and sales enablement tools (experience with ZoomInfo strongly preferred). • Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities. • Entrepreneurial spirit—energetic, adaptable, and driven to make an impact.
