A leading women’s retailer is seeking a Senior Manager, Company Planning to drive strategic planning initiatives that support sales growth, margin optimization, and effective inventory management. Acting as the connective hub between Finance and cross-functional brand teams—including Merchandise Planning, Location Planning, Stores, E-commerce, and Marketing—this role is instrumental in shaping the financial future of our brands.
This highly visible role focuses on sales and margin forecasting, annual budget planning, business reporting, and evaluating both ongoing trends and new growth opportunities. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, analytical by nature, and a skilled communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own the development and execution of pre-season and in-season company plans at the channel level for both Stores and E-commerce.
• Serve as a central liaison between Finance and Brand teams to ensure alignment and accuracy in planning and forecasting.
• Lead the creation of brand-level sales and margin plans, reconciling top-down financial targets with bottom-up business input.
• Provide weekly performance updates including risk/opportunity assessments by brand and channel.
• Manage and update the promotional calendar and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Oversee midweek, weekly, and daily reforecasts as needed.
• Develop and present topline sales and margin strategies to drive business performance.
• Communicate key financial metrics including sales, margin, inventory, turn, and impacts of promotional and fiscal calendar shifts.
• Identify and explain variances between bottom-up and top-down plans.
• Participate in weekly brand meetings to share business insights and strategic recommendations.
• Mentor and support direct reports and junior planning team members, fostering growth and development.
Qualifications:
• 7–10 years of experience in Planning, ideally within a corporate or central planning function in the retail industry.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate analysis into actionable insights.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration.
• Deep understanding of financial metrics and retail planning principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Confident decision-maker with strong leadership and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and business intelligence tools (e.g., APT or equivalent).
