Role description
"At Klipboard we've introduced a flexible hybrid work policy, where employees spend three days in the office and two days working from home. This approach promotes a balanced work environment that combines office collaboration with the comfort and convenience of remote work." Klipboard provides specialist software, services and support to deliver fully integrated trading and business management solutions to companies in the distributive trade – wherever they are in the world. With a unique depth of knowledge and experience in ERP/SaaS solutions, Klipboard has a wide range of clients includes wholesalers, distributors, merchants and retailers from small traders to multinational enterprises. Klipboard has offices in the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands, South Africa, Kenya and North America. Our mission is simple: to design and deliver high performance, integrated ERP solutions that enable our distributive trade customers to source effectively, stock efficiently, sell profitably and service competitively This is a rare opportunity to shape the visual future of an eCommerce platform used by real businesses around the world. We’re looking for a creatively minded UI Theme Developer to lead the design and front-end build of a new generation of themes for WebPro, our templated eCommerce tool. You’ll work directly with our Tech Lead for eCommerce and receive close support from our VP of Customer Experience - but the creative direction? That’s all yours. This role is ideal for someone who’s tired of coding someone else’s Figma files - and would rather design in the browser, experiment, and build reusable theme structures from the ground up. Over nine months, you’ll create a suite of modern, responsive themes that define how businesses across multiple industries present themselves online. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop a fresh set of modern, flexible, and fast WebPro themes (target: 10+) • Build responsive layouts using Twig, Bootstrap, HTML5, and CSS/SCSS • Create layout systems, component structures, and flexible styling options for end users • Prototype directly in code - no design team, no mock-ups, just your creative lead • Ensure themes are accessible, performant, and beautiful across all major browsers and devices • Collaborate with engineering and customer-facing teams to ensure your themes are easy to deploy and maintain • Stay ahead of design trends in eCommerce - from grid systems to microinteractions and visual hierarchy • Ensure all themes are built to be easily customisable by customers – including flexible colour schemes, layout options, and content blocks that adapt to different business types Skills, Knowledge And Experience • A strong portfolio of front-end work - particularly full themes or eCommerce storefronts • Hands-on experience with Twig templating, Bootstrap, and responsive front-end architecture • An eye for detail - layout, spacing, colour, and rhythm matter to you • Experience working independently in a fast-moving team • Confidence designing directly in code, not just interpreting wireframes • Knowledge of performance optimisation, semantic HTML, and accessibility best practices Why This Role Matters WebPro gives small and mid-sized businesses the power to sell online. But the way it looks and feels - that’s your job to shape. You’ll be helping those businesses stand out with clean, professional, responsive storefronts that make customers want to click ‘buy’. This isn’t just a coding role. It’s a creative opportunity to design with autonomy, build with confidence, and leave behind a theme library we’ll use (and evolve) long after your contract ends.
