Role description
Senior Technical SEO Analyst
Location: Leeds (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office)
Salary: Up to £46,000 + benefits
Interview Process: 2 stages (intro + task/presentation)
The Company
A well-known, product-led consumer brand with a significant eCommerce footprint. The team is expanding its organic growth engine and investing in modern tooling, page performance and cross-functional delivery.
The Role
Own the technical SEO roadmap across crawlability, indexation, site performance and scalable on-site foundations. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering and Content to identify issues, quantify impact, and ship improvements that lift qualified traffic and revenue. This suits someone hands-on who can translate diagnostics into developer-ready actions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead comprehensive technical audits and maintain a prioritised backlog tied to commercial impact.
• Monitor and optimise crawl budget, sitemaps, robots rules, canonicals and hreflang (incl. international SEO).
• Improve Core Web Vitals and page speed; partner with engineering on rendering, JS hydration and asset optimisation.
• Own technical SEO requirements for site changes and migrations (redirect mapping, log-file checks, parity testing).
• Implement and validate structured data (JSON-LD), fix rich result issues and schema drift.
• Build/maintain dashboards to track organic KPIs; measure tests and quantify revenue impact.
• Work in agile squads; write clear tickets, acceptance criteria and change notes for release cycles.
• Evangelise SEO best practice across product and content; provide enablement and simple playbooks.
Skills & Experience
• Essential:
• 3+ years in Technical SEO for large, complex or eCommerce sites.
• Fluent with GA4, Google Search Console and enterprise crawling tools (Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Lumar/Deepcrawl).
• Solid grasp of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and how client-side rendering affects discoverability and CWV.
• Evidence of delivering measurable gains (indexation, rankings, traffic, CTR, revenue).
• Comfortable collaborating with engineers and writing actionable JIRA/ADO tickets.
• Nice to have:
• SQL for analysis (e.g., BigQuery/Looker) and basic data QA.
• Python for automation/log parsing (pandas, requests) and Search Console API usage.
• International SEO experience (hreflang, ccTLD/subfolder strategies).
• Experience with A/B testing and measurement frameworks.
