Role description
The SEO Strategist will provide strategic leadership, execution support, and act as primary client liaison for a subset of organic search marketing and social media client accounts. The SEO Strategist serves as a leadership role within the team that may manage both SEO Analysts and Specialists.
Responsibilities
β’ Translate client objectives into effective search marketing strategies
β’ Define measurable acquisition-based keyword and content strategies for clients
β’ Deliver comprehensive analysis and recommendations to support effective site crawlability and indexation (technical SEO expertise)
β’ Deliver detailed and analytical site performance reporting insights and organic online marketing recommendations with support of team
β’ Consulting and analysis around all aspects of SEO, including competitive research, technical SEO, usability, E-A-T, core web vitals, site structure optimization, link acquisition strategies, measurement and performance, and content strategy
β’ Act as primary client contact, providing education for clients around SEO strategies, tactics, deliverables, and performance and persuasively making business cases for smart SEO strategies
β’ Lead (and inspire) a team of 1-3 members in the execution of client organic search and social media programs
β’ Stay up to date on current SEO industry trends and technologies, and communicate these trends to clients and the team
Qualifications
β’ 5-6 years or more of experience contributing to or managing SEO programs, preferably in an agency setting
β’ Bachelorβs or advanced degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or a related area
β’ Evidence of success with previous SEO campaigns for medium to large brands, ideally including ecommerce companies
β’ Strong understanding of cross-channel marketing principles
β’ Self-starter who is able to develop, lead, prioritize and execute on SEO strategies for multiple clients simultaneously
β’ Compelling written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
β’ Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel
β’ Advanced understanding of technical SEO concepts (crawling, indexing, rendering, AMP, site migrations, page speed optimization, core web vitals and more)
β’ Strong project management and organization skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
β’ Advanced understanding and experienced user of Google Analytics and Google Search Console - Tag Manager and/or Publisher Center is also a plus
β’ Understand recent developments in SEO such as Core Web Vitals, Google Discover, E-A-T, new Rich Results, and more
β’ Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HTML, Javascript and CSS as they impact search performance
β’ Strong knowledge and experience using standard and enterprise search tools and platforms (Botify, Sitebulb, Conductor Searchlight, Stat, Sistrix, DeepCrawl, Screaming Frog, SEMRush, etc.)
