Role description
Job Title: Shopify Developer & IT Support Specialist Location: London HQ – Hybrid working available About Cult Furniture At Cult Furniture, we believe great design should be accessible to everyone. We create stylish, contemporary furniture for homes, offices, and hospitality spaces worldwide. With a fast-growing e-commerce presence and a vibrant team, we’re on a mission to make design-led living effortless. We’re looking for a technically skilled, problem-solving all-rounder to join our team — someone who can develop and optimise our Shopify store while also being the go-to person for IT support and infrastructure across the business. This role will be a mix of hands-on development, project coordination with our external Shopify agency, and internal IT support. Key Responsibilities Shopify Development & Project Coordination (Approx. 80%) • Manage and deliver Shopify development tasks within your own skill set. • Collaborate closely with our external development agency — scoping, briefing, testing, and managing work through their dev and release process. • Act as the internal liaison between Cult Furniture teams and the external dev agency, ensuring priorities, timelines, and deliverables are aligned. • Troubleshoot and fix smaller bugs or front-end issues directly, escalating larger or more complex work to the agency. • Work with APIs to connect Shopify with third-party systems (ERP, PIM, shipping, marketing tools). • Ensure the site is optimised for SEO, page speed, and mobile responsiveness. • Support A/B testing and CRO initiatives. IT Support & Systems Management (Approx. 20%) • Act as the in-house IT point of contact for day-to-day hardware/software issues. • Set up and configure laptops, user accounts, and Microsoft 365 licences for new starters. • Manage email configurations, security permissions, and shared drives. • Oversee DNS management, domain renewals, and SSL certificates. • Liaise with external IT vendors for complex issues or escalations. • Maintain basic network and Wi-Fi troubleshooting capability. Skills & Experience Essential: • 2–4 years’ experience as a Shopify Developer (Shopify Plus experience a bonus). • Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid templating, and Shopify CLI skills. • Experience integrating third-party apps and APIs into Shopify. • Ability to work with and manage external development teams, including understanding version control, branching, and release processes. • Solid Microsoft 365 admin skills (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams). • Confident troubleshooting Windows and macOS issues. • Familiarity with DNS management, email routing, and basic networking. Desirable: • Experience with ERP and PIM integrations (e.g., Sage 200, Plytix, Mintsoft). • Google Workspace administration knowledge. • Understanding of SEO best practices for e-commerce. • Experience with Klaviyo, Google Tag Manager, and analytics tracking. You’ll be a great fit if you: • Love problem-solving and wearing multiple hats. • Can switch between focused dev work, coordinating agency projects, and quick IT fixes without losing focus. • Are proactive and happy to take ownership of tech-related challenges. • Have a strong attention to detail and care about delivering quality. • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
