Sr. Merchandise Manager, Socks
What will you do?
This portfolio position will develop product & GTM strategies that drive revenue, margin & line efficiency for both brands. One portion of the role will be responsible for driving the Smartwool Global product strategies & product planning, while the other portion of responsibilities will be in taking the Global Icebreaker brand and product vision and bringing the right line to market for the NORA region. This role will need to know both brands and with an unbiased approach build the best merino products & assortment for the target consumers, resulting in total revenue & profitability that is greater than the sum of the two brands.
The Sr Merchandise Manager is ultimately responsible for the global merchandising and product strategy for the global Smartwool & icebreaker sock product line. This role leads the product line management team in the seasonal product creation and GTM process. This person drives the business side of product creation, lifecycle management and champions the product line. This role is responsible for leading the team to plan a brand right product line that is consumer centric, drives revenue, margin and line efficiency. This role leads the merchandising team to manage the product lifecycle, research and plan new product intros, that enable the brand to achieve business growth goals. This person leads the sock product team to plan and brief a product line that is focused on meeting and exceeding the needs of the consumer, creating commercially compelling lines, drives the brand forward and manages to the business goals of the line for revenue, margin and SKU efficiency. This person assesses the business opportunities and leads the product process to execute the right product, at the right price, at the right time
The Socks Merch Manager is a key leader in the Go to Market team that works to take the product from ideation to consumer launch. This position requires the ability to inspire Go To Market (GTM) partners and other product creation shareholders. The Merchandise Manager is responsible for the seasonal direction of the Smartwool & icebreaker Global Socks Line, driving the Socks category strategy work to support the greater brand strategic plan. In conjunction with the Merchandising Director, the Merchandise Manager provides leadership for the GTM teams as the consumer, market and business expert while monitoring the process through ongoing interaction with internal and external cross-functional teams. From brief to commercialization, the Merchandise Manager provides product, consumer, business and market expertise while ensuring key product creation calendar milestones are met. With expert level thinking, communication and heavy emphasis on storytelling and presentation skills, the Merchandise Manager fosters a highly collaborative work relationship with Design, Development, Sales, Marketing, Operations and other key internal and external stakeholders.
