SOFTWARE DEVELOPER
Salary: Up to £50,000 p/a (depending on skills and experience) plus profit share
Job type: Permanent and Full Time (35 hours p/w) on a 9 day fortnight working pattern
Reporting to: Head of Engineering
Location: Edinburgh - Hybrid working - office days are Monday and Thursday

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Software Developer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and
maintenance of our web commerce and SaaS applications. You’ll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet our clients’ evolving needs. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise to a forward-thinking company that values creativity, teamwork and innovation.
Responsibilities:
● Design, develop, document and maintain robust and scalable web commerce and
SaaS applications.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and
translate them into technical solutions.
● Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure high code quality
and best practices.
● Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. To
contribute to and improve our software development processes.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of commercial experience in Java development with a focus on web
• commerce and SaaS applications.
• Strong knowledge of Java, React and Spring frameworks and related technologies.
• Experience with front-end development with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern
• frameworks.
• Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools (AWS, GCP) and microservices
• Architecture.
• Knowledge of virtualization, containerization and Kubernetes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards addressing
• challenges.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
• environment, to teach and learn from others.
Good to have:
• Knowledge of any modern languages, eg Go, Python etc
• Knowledge of SQL-based databases and query languages
