Software Engineer (Front End) Ecommerce Location: Chester (2 days per week in the office) Salary: up to £42,500 + benefits Join one of the UK’s most loved retailers as they continue to transform and grow their online presence. They're looking for talented Software Engineers to become part of their well-established ecommerce team during an exciting period of digital innovation. This is a varied role where you’ll work across multiple websites, creating new features, running A/B tests, building tools, and supporting campaigns – all while helping to shape the future of the retailers online customer experience. It’s the perfect opportunity for someone eager to sharpen their skills in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. What you’ll be doing: • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and deliver new features and improvements for their ecommerce platforms. • Implementing trade optimisations, bug fixes, and feature updates for Commerce Cloud sites and apps. • Setting up and running A/B test campaigns, applying winning changes to their codebase. • Developing and maintaining microservices, campaign toolkits, and non-transactional sites. • Participating in planning, solution design, retrospectives, and reviews to drive continuous improvement. What we’re looking for: • Strong skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, SCSS, and HTML. • Experience with frameworks such as Node.js and React.js. • Understanding of ecommerce concepts and workflows. • Hands-on experience with commerce platforms and CMS tools. • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
