This a brand new role within the e-commerce team, chiefly focused in leading the design and implementation of a new, comprehensive automation test strategy and analysis of the current manual testing process. The role requires a seasoned Software Testing & Automation Specialist who has worked on large scale web/e-commerce platforms which combine core functionality with fast-changing promotional offers. The role is a 12-month initial engagement and the Software Testing & Automation Specialist will complete the role leaving an established, maintainable automated testing framework which reduces risk, improves release quality and drives greater efficiency. Role Requirements • Review & analyse existing manual testing workflows for ecommerce platform functionality and fast-changing promotional offers. • Complete a gap analysis, identifying inefficiencies, and risks of current test practices • Recommend enhancements to manual testing processes • Evaluate, recommend and implement robust, suitable automated testing tools (e.g., Testim, Selenium, Cypress) • Design and deliver an automation framework to support both functional and regression testing • Configure, implement, and document automated testing workflows in the chosen tools. • Develop robust test cases and templates for consistent, repeatable use • Train internal team members to maintain and extend automated tests as business needs evolve • Deliver a comprehensive, documented testing strategy • Establish automated testing workflows that integrate effectively with software engineering and release management processes • Ensure the testing framework is scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective • Provide clear, actionable reporting on testing coverage, outcomes, and defects Required Skills & Experience • Demonstrable track record in software testing, including both manual and automated approaches. • Experience implementing automated testing frameworks for ecommerce or other complex web platforms (mandatory) • Demonstrated expertise in at least one major automation tool or framework • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated testing into release processes. • Experience documenting processes and delivering training to non-specialist teams. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and improve existing processes. • Technical proficiency in setting up and configuring automated testing tools. • Ability to create effective, reusable test cases for functional and regression testing. • Excellent communication skills to explain technical processes to non-technical audiences. • Strong documentation and reporting capabilities. • Collaborative working approach For more information or immediate consideration for this opportunity, please contact Charlie Grant at CPS Group UK on 02920 37 55 99 or email cgrant@cpsgroupuk.com
