We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Sr. Director, Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C). This high-impact leadership role will define and deliver a unified global C2C value proposition, aligned across categories, customer journeys, and cross-functional teams. The role offers the opportunity to redefine global peer-to-peer commerce on one of the world’s most iconic platforms. You will drive the strategy, execution, and culture that power the next phase of growth, trust, and community at eBay.
The Sr. Director will act as the strategic owner of eBay’s C2C business, one of the company’s most foundational and high-potential growth segment.. In this role, you will oversee strategy development, cross-functional coordination, and business performance, while ensuring alignment across Product, Marketing, Risk, Trust, Policy, and Operations teams.
You will lead a team focused on simplifying the selling process, increasing conversion and seller success, optimizing monetization, and creating seamless end-to-end customer experiences. The ideal candidate brings deep marketplace expertise, exceptional product instincts, and a proven ability to lead through influence in a global, matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
• Define and lead the end-to-end global C2C strategy, focused on driving seller acquisition, retention, and engagement.
• Own the value proposition for C2C sellers and buyers, ensuring a clear, simple, and scalable experience across all markets.
• Align cross-functional teams on global C2C priorities, balancing strategic intent with executional feasibility.
• Lead development and execution of global programs including:
• AI-powered listing flows and automation
• Pricing and promotional strategies
• Seller trust features such as verification and pay-at-pickup
• Local transaction enhancements and fulfillment solutions
• Create and drive a global C2C playbook that captures best practices and ensures consistent experience across regions.
• Serve as the go-to leader for C2C business performance, with accountability for GMV growth, CSAT, conversion, and seller health KPIs.
• Translate customer insights and market trends into roadmap priorities; collaborate with Product and Marketing to launch and scale initiatives.
• Partner with legal, policy, and comms teams to ensure smooth go-to-market and adoption of key programs.
• Represent the voice of the global C2C customer in executive forums and decision-making processes.
• Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of curiosity, performance, and inclusivity.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of leadership experience in e-commerce, digital marketplaces, or consumer platforms.
• Demonstrated success in defining and executing global strategy across complex organizations.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives spanning product, marketing, operations, and customer experience.
• Deep understanding of consumer and seller dynamics in two-sided marketplaces.
• Strong analytical mindset with comfort in using data to inform decisions, develop business cases, and track KPIs.
• Proven track record of leading through influence in matrixed, global environments.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong team leadership experience, with ability to develop and inspire diverse, high-performing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in buyer and seller trust, fulfillment, payments, or other marketplace infrastructure.
• Familiarity with system architecture, APIs, and Agile product development environments.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$234,000 - $312,400
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
