The Role
The Sr. Director, Partner Marketing & Sponsorships, leads SSA’s partner marketing practice, ensuring we execute marketing projects and campaigns with excellence for our partners.
This leader will work closely with partners, SSA’s internal team, marketing agencies, and other stakeholders to develop and implement the processes and standards needed for best-in-class execution. Success in this role means growing partner revenue, fulfilling contractual commitments, strengthening SSA’s value proposition, and elevating the guest experience. The Sr. Director champions SSA’s integrated approach and helps evolve our partner marketing model as we scale.
Strategic Leadership
• Implement the vision and strategy for SSA’s partner marketing and sponsorships function as a growth engine for SSA and its partners.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and SMEs to align partner marketing and sponsorships with company-wide objectives.
• Build scalable, efficient processes for delivering marketing and sponsorship services across a diverse partner portfolio.
Partner Marketing & Sponsorship Execution
• Serve as the primary account manager for partner marketing and sponsorship stakeholders, developing strong relationships, understanding partner objectives, and ensuring partner satisfaction.
• Own the delivery and performance of all contracted marketing and sponsorship services, ensuring SSA consistently meets or exceeds partner and sponsor expectations.
• Develop and oversee integrated, multi-channel marketing and sponsorship programs that drive attendance, membership, event bookings, and other revenue streams for partners.
• Ensure all work aligns with partners’ and sponsors’ brand guidelines and SSA’s standards for excellence.
• Track, report, and communicate marketing & sponsorship performance and ROI to partners and other stakeholders, identifying opportunities for optimization, renewal, and upsell.
• Ensure all sponsorship activities are compliant with contractual terms, regulatory requirements, and SSA’s standards for brand integrity and guest experience.
Team Leadership & Development
• Foster a collaborative, partner-focused culture with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
• Serve as a hands-on leader, with the opportunity to build and lead a high-performing team as the partner marketing and sponsorship function expands.
Agency & Stakeholder Management
• Oversee relationships with external agencies, contractors, and vendors to supplement in-house resources as needed.
• Serve as the primary marketing point of contact for senior partner and sponsor stakeholders and cross-functional teams, building trust and ensuring we execute with excellence.
• Lead regular partner and stakeholder business reviews, proactively addressing challenges or opportunities.
Measurement & Optimization
• Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the impact of partner marketing and sponsorship initiatives.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, using data and partner/sponsor feedback to refine processes, tactics, and team structure.
• Develop and maintain marketing playbooks by auditing channels, creating standardized templates, and codifying best practices to ensure consistent, scalable execution across internal teams and partner organizations.
What You Bring
• 10+ years of marketing experience, including at least 5 years in agency, in-house, or client services roles serving external clients or partners
• Demonstrated success building and scaling marketing teams or agency services, ideally in a multi-client or matrixed environment
• Deep expertise across marketing strategy, digital, content, creative, and campaign management
• Proven leadership skills with a record of developing and motivating high-performing teams
• Experience in hospitality, attractions, or nonprofit marketing is highly preferred
• Background in revenue-driving marketing for areas such as retail, ecommerce, memberships, private events, or ticketed attractions is a strong plus.
• Data-driven, agile, and resourceful, with a track record of building new programs and capabilities from the ground up.
