Job Summary:
We are looking for a strategic, customer-obsessed, and highly collaborative Senior Director of Product Marketing to direct our go-to-market efforts across Rakuten Rewards. This person will play a critical role in shaping how we position our products, differentiate in a crowded landscape, and drive adoption across key consumer segments. You will partner closely with Product, Brand, Growth Marketing, and Analytics teams to drive product strategy, feature adoption, and user engagement. This role reports to the CMO of Rakuten Rewards.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Own and evolve the positioning and value proposition of Rakuten Rewards' core offerings (cashback, browser extension, app, in-store, travel, gift cards, etc.)
β’ Develop messaging frameworks that resonate with both consumers and retail partners across different lifecycle stages and demographics
β’ Ensure a consistent brand and product narrative across all channels
β’ Drive cross-functional GTM launches for new features, partner integrations, and seasonal campaigns
β’ Collaborate with Product, Design, and Growth teams to define launch goals, timelines, success metrics, and post-launch retrospectives
β’ Drive adoption, usage, and retention through campaigns that align with key consumer behaviors and retail moments
β’ Conduct and synthesize competitive analysis, market trends, and consumer research to inform product strategy
β’ Translate insights into actionable marketing strategies that improve feature awareness and engagement
β’ Align internal stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Sales, and Partnerships around messaging and GTM priorities
β’ Mentor and manage a team of product marketers
β’ Define success metrics for product marketing initiatives and continuously test and iterate
β’ Leverage data and experimentation to improve feature adoption, customer understanding, and campaign effectiveness

β’ Expertise in performance-driven, loyalty-focused, or affiliate business models is a strong plus
β’ Deep understanding of customer segmentation, behavior psychology, and growth marketing principles
β’ Exceptional storytelling and communication skillsβboth written and verbal
β’ Strong analytical mindset with experience using customer data, research, and A/B testing to inform strategy
β’ Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, cross-functional, and high-stakes environment
β’ Passion for empowering customers to make smarter, more rewarding choices
β’ Ability to roll up sleeves and get into the work, while leading a team
Minimum Requirements:
β’ 10+ years of experience in product marketing, 2+ years in leadership roles
β’ Bachelor's Degree Required
