Job Summary We are looking for a highly skilled and technically strong Backend Lead with extensive experience in e-commerce platforms. This individual will lead a backend development team, guide technical decision-making, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of backend systems, strong problem-solving capabilities, and excellent communication skills to lead by example and collaborate effectively. Key Responsibilities • Lead backend development for mission-critical e-commerce applications and services. • Architect and implement scalable, maintainable, and high-performance solutions using modern technologies. • Collaborate with product managers, frontend teams, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders to define and deliver features. • Mentor, guide, and support backend engineers in their technical growth. • Perform code reviews, establish best practices, and ensure high code quality. • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure high system availability. • Contribute to architectural and strategic planning discussions. • Maintain documentation of design, architecture, and technical decisions. Required Skills And Qualifications • 8+ years of backend development experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership role • Proven experience in e-commerce platforms and understanding of product catalog, cart, checkout, payments, and profile domains. • Proven expertise in J2EE. • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and system integrations • Hands-on experience with GCP cloud platforms • Experience with databases – both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis). • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and API security • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables effectively Preferred Qualifications • Experience in headless commerce architecture and MACH principles (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) • Familiarity with GraphQL and event-driven architecture • Exposure to tools like Kafka, ElasticSearch, or Redis is a plus. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
