Job Summary Chem-X is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the company’s day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with accounting standards. The Staff Accountant will assist with general ledger entries, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, tax reporting for e-commerce sales, and financial statement preparation. This position requires strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software (such as Avalara, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or equivalent), and a drive to contribute and grow with Chem-X! Key Responsibilities · Account Reconciliation - Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts. · General Ledger Management – Prepare and post journal entries, maintain accurate account balances, and ensure compliance with GAAP. · Financial Reporting – Assist with preparation of internal financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.· Month-End & Year-End Close – Support closing processes by ensuring timely, accurate recording of revenues, expenses, and accruals. · Process Improvement – Identify and recommend ways to streamline accounting procedures and improve accuracy/efficiency. · Cross-Department Collaboration – Work closely with operations, sales, and leadership to ensure accurate financial tracking of company activities. · Inventory Management Support - Monitor inventory transactions, cost of goods sold, and assist with periodic counts and reconciliations (important for a product-based company like Chem-X). · Perform additional duties and take on special projects as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the broader goals of the company. Qualifications · Previous experience with e-commerce and familiarity with Shopify, Amazon. · Solid Understanding of GAAP, and necessary core accounting principles. · Accounting software knowledge including Avalara, Intuit QuickBooks, Oracle NetSuite, and Microsoft Excel. · Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting needs. · High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. · Willingness to take on new challenges and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Compensation & Benefits · Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000 Annually, negotiable based on knowledge and experience. • · Chem-X matches up to 3% on Simple IRA retirement plans
