About the Job Position Summary As a Staff Front-End Engineer on the QXO eCommerce team, you will lead the design and development of scalable, accessible, and high-performance user experiences across key surfaces such as checkout, search, and personalization. You will partner closely with product and design to create elegant, intuitive, and responsive interfaces used by millions of users. You will also play a key role in shaping QXO’s front-end architecture and engineering best practices. This role is ideal for engineers who are customer-obsessed, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments. Key Responsibilities β€’ Lead development of critical user-facing features β€’ Write clean, efficient, and testable code β€’ Lead design, architecture and code reviews. β€’ Mentor junior engineers and shape engineering best practices. β€’ Define and evolve front-end architecture to ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability β€’ Build and scale reusable components and a shared design system β€’ Collaborate with design and product teams to deliver delightful, accessible UI β€’ Optimize applications for performance and cross-browser compatibility β€’ Champion front-end testing, observability, and performance tooling β€’ Drive accessibility and internationalization (i18n/l10n) standards Qualifications & Skills β€’ 5+ years of hands-on coding experience β€’ Expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3 β€’ Experience with React (or Angular, Vue), and related ecosystem (e.g., Redux, Next.js) β€’ Strong grasp of performance optimization β€’ Experience working with REST or GraphQL APIs β€’ Familiarity with testing frameworks β€’ Strong communication and collaboration skills β€’ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience building high-scale eCommerce or checkout UI flows β€’ Experience with experimentation frameworks β€’ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for front-end deployments (e.g., Vercel, Netlify) β€’ Familiarity working with design systems (e.g., Storybook, Figma integration) β€’ Contributions to open-source front-end libraries or tools β€’ Experience in Marketing or Ad Tech β€’ MS or Ph.D More About QXO QXO is the largest publicly traded distributor of roofing, waterproofing, and complementary building products in the United States.
