Role description
Join our web development team which is bridging Meta's external marketing websites and platforms. As a people manager of Technical Website Operations within the Meta Web Development Organization, you'll manage a team that empowers marketing and product teams with efficient, impactful, and scalable web experiences.You will be responsible for standardizing Web Development at Meta - creating and adopting reusable web templates/components for consistency and faster development, maximizing organic reach through best practices, providing technical support for rapid launches and iterations, and optimizing website performance, scalability, and security. We're data-driven, design-forward, and interface with several teams across Meta.
Technical Website Operations Lead - Websites Responsibilities:
β’ Build, manage, and set direction for the team as a whole, as well as for individual team member success
β’ Standardize web development operations at Meta through managing the creation and ensuring adoption of reusable web templates and components that enables brand consistency and faster development
β’ As a cross-functional partner, lead technical website discussions as a thought leader during product reviews and be responsible for designing and executing process and strategy frameworks that facilitate product-related goal setting, decision making, and business impact
β’ Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Design, Content, Data Science, SEO & Content, and Marketing to define needs to support strategic planning and execution as well as metrics, program requirements, and scope
β’ Communicate to stakeholders your teamβs technology requirements, goals, and milestones
β’ Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery
β’ Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases
β’ Perform risk and change management on highly visible projects
β’ Influence program/product direction and simplify complexity
Minimum Qualifications:
β’ Experience in leading teams and vendor partners to drive cross-functional projects through to success with minimal guidance
β’ 12 + years of software industry experience, including web development, software engineering or technical product/program management experience or similar experience
β’ Experience in establishing and leading teams through multi-disciplinary relationships to drive product impact
β’ Demonstrated experience of understanding technical aspects of running a website, including hosting, analytics, UX, technical and content SEO, domain management, content management system, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, platform tools, site performance, localization, and budgeting
β’ Experience communicating and representing work to leadership and framing discussions to gain valuable feedback and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products
β’ 4 + years of people management experience leading teams to deliver technical programs or products from inception to delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Demonstrated experience of React development
β’ Experience managing technical aspects of a global eCommerce website
