The newly created Vice President of Marketing role represents a strategic investment in that future. This executive will be the company’s first enterprise-wide marketing leader, responsible for developing and executing a unified marketing strategy that drives traffic, builds loyalty, and increases cross-selling and conversion across all retail locations and platforms. Reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the executive team, this leader will build a strategy not just to attract visitors—but to inspire them to stay longer, explore more of the campus while having had a rich, memorable experience. This role calls for a results driven, highly analytical, customer-centric leader who thrives at the intersection of retail brand strategy and hard-hitting traffic driving programming. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in destination retail and omni-channel customer engagement. They’ll be fluent in data, energized by collaboration, and motivated to deliver measurable results. Essential Responsibilities: ·       Drive traffic and revenue growth across HRM’s brick-and-mortar locations, with emphasis on Hartville Hardware, Hartville Kitchen, Lehman’s, and the soon-to-open Middlefield Ohio Hardware store. ·       Develop and implement an enterprise-wide marketing strategy that aligns business unit goals while elevating the overall HRM brand and destination appeal. ·       Champion a full-funnel marketing approach to drive customer traffic across paid, owned, and earned channels—including digital media, email, local and regional advertising, in-store conversion, and loyalty. ·       Create and execute targeted campaigns to increase traffic, purchase volume, and frequency using analytics, geo-targeting, digital engagement, and performance marketing techniques. ·       Build a profitable, collaborative marketing team, providing mentorship and leadership and serving cross-functional leaders across the brands and company. ·       Leverage customer and POS data to refine strategies and identify opportunities for cross-sell, repeat visits, and expanded customer engagement. ·       Enhance marketing ROI through performance tracking, budget management, vendor co-op programs, and investments in high-performing marketing channels. ·       Partner closely with eCommerce leadership to ensure brand consistency, drive omni-channel awareness, and support in-store promotions via digital channels. ·       Support new initiatives including store openings and enterprise-wide campaigns that reinforce HRM’s destination positioning. Essential Qualifications: ·       10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience in retail, hospitality, or other destination-based industries. ·       A proven ability to drive foot traffic and business results through omni-channel marketing, customer insights, and campaign innovation. ·       Strong financial and analytical skills; able to link spend to performance and guide investment toward high-ROI initiatives. ·       Expertise in regional and local marketing strategies, including geo-targeting, loyalty, community engagement, and performance marketing. ·       Fluency in interpreting data from POS and marketing analytics systems to inform actionable decisions. ·       A collaborative leadership style with the ability to partner across teams and lead through influence. ·       An entrepreneurial, grounded mindset with the ability to pair strategic vision with hands-on execution. ·       A humble, values-aligned approach to leadership—energized by HRM’s service-oriented, collaborative, and relational culture. ·       A bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field; preference given to candidates with an MBA or advanced degree.
