We provide sophisticated products for the home, selling to style-conscious retailers via a best-in-class shopping experience. Job Purpose: Napa Home & Garden is seeking a strategic, hands-on leader to guide our product assortment from concept to delivery. As VP of Product Merchandising & Management, you will lead a team of merchants and product managers to drive trend-right, commercially successful assortments that are aligned to our brand and resonate across wholesale and ecommerce channels. This role is equal parts visionary and builder: You will combine strong market intuition with data-driven decision-making, while coaching a tenured team, optimizing systems, and shaping the next chapter of Napa’s growth. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment and brings deep experience in home décor merchandising and product development. Duties and responsibilities: Product Strategy & Merchandising (40%) • Develop and lead a product and merchandising strategy that drives sales, margin, and market share. • Curate trend-right assortments across channels, using data and customer insights to identify opportunities and fill whitespace. • Partner with the VP of Design to align creative direction with business goals. • Guide merchants in trend forecasting, pricing strategy, and assortment planning. • Source and grow partnerships with global vendors to support quality, design, and margin goals. • Travel internationally (25–30%) to oversee vendor relationships and finalize assortments. • Optimize product mix across wholesale and ecommerce, collaborating closely with design, planning, sales, and ops. Product Management & Delivery (30%) • Lead product managers in maintaining product data accuracy and quality across ERP, DAM, and PMS systems. • Partner with Purchasing on order accuracy, container optimization, invoice reconciliation, and inventory health. • Co-lead pricing and portfolio strategy alongside the President, ensuring alignment with brand goals and market needs. • Ensure efficient, timely product data flow to sales and marketing channels. Business & Team Leadership (30%) • Own delivery of revenue and margin targets based on financial plans. • Monitor market and category trends to inform product strategy and guide cross-functional decision-making. • Lead vendor negotiations and pricing strategies for each season’s assortment. • Develop and coach high-performing merchant and product teams, elevating capabilities and succession potential. • Communicate clearly across teams regarding assortment, inventory, and business opportunities. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, merchandising, marketing, or a related field. • 15+ years in retail buying or wholesale merchandising, including 5+ years leading omnichannel teams. • Proven experience in sourcing and product development across complex supply chains. • Strong background in home décor merchandising across multiple categories and distribution channels. • Demonstrated success developing talent and fostering growth in others. • Experience leading assortments for home décor brands >$10M in annual sales. Travel Requirements • Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including internationally, to work with global teams, suppliers, and retail markets.
