Vitamix is seeking a Web Designer that will combine expertise in visual design and front-end development to deliver modular, scalable, and high-performance digital experiences across Vitamix.com, including US, Canada, Mexico, and global sites. This role spans the full web development lifecycle, from concept through implementation, ensuring cohesive, accessible, and optimized user journeys that align with Vitamix’s brand and digital strategy. As a key contributor to the long-term digital roadmap, this position will work across Vitamix’s hybrid architecture, including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Magento, and edge-rendered frameworks. The Web Designer will lead the design, development, and testing of reusable components and performance-driven pages, while also evaluating the current tech stack to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency. Duties & Responsibilities • Design and develop visually compelling and responsive website layouts, UI components, and user flows that align with the brand standards and usability best practices. • Implement front-end solutions using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and templating engines (e.g., Handlebars), ensuring quality and consistency across devices and browsers. • Optimize site performance through advanced knowledge of browser rendering, asset prioritization, and technical SEO. • Build and maintain a flexible, reusable design system to support scalable web development across global properties. • Contribute to the long-term technical roadmap for Vitamix’s direct-to-consumer digital ecosystem, helping to shape the future-state architecture that enables growth, agility, and customer-centric innovation. • Conduct cross-browser and device testing to ensure functionality, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and speed. • Collaborate closely with UX designers, back-end developers, content teams, and marketing stakeholders to deliver seamless web experiences. • Evaluating the existing tech stack and recommend enhancements that drive efficiency and performance. • Plan and execute A/B tests to validate hypotheses and inform future UX and design decisions. • Exercise sound technical and design judgement to make informed decisions that balance user experience, performance, scalability, and business goals. The Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess • Alignment with Vitamix’s culture and Guiding Principles which defines its Purpose, Mission, and Values. • Experience with MS Office • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and templating engines such as Handlebars • Experience with JSON-based rendering and Git-based version control (GitHub) • Expertise in UX/UI principles, web fundamentals (typography, layout, color theory), and responsive design • Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility standards and compliance • Hands-on experience with content management systems (AEM and/or Edge preferred) • Magento or other eCommerce platform development experience strongly preferred • Experience with performance monitoring tools such as Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, SpeedCurve, etc. • Familiarity with Figma and A/B testing platforms • Preferred experience with Salesforce CRM and/or Marketing Cloud • Problem Solving - Skilled at quickly diagnosing issues, identifying root causes, and developing and implementing effective solutions. • Critical Thinking - Ability to break down complex information, identify key elements, and assess their validity and relevance. • Communication - Ability to clearly articulate design concepts and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences • Customer-Centric Mindset – Designs with empathy for end-user experience and business goals • Relationship Building - Ability to establish, maintain, and cultivate positive relationships with individuals, teams, and external stakeholders to foster a collaborative environment • Flexibility - Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities, new information, and diverse situations, while remaining focused on achieving goals. • Organizational Skills - Effectively manages time, prioritizes tasks, meets deadlines, and maintains systems for achieving goals. • Attention to Detail – Ability to balance pixel-perfect execution with performance and usability • Reliability/Dependability - Highly reliable, proactive self-starter; can be counted on to complete assignments on time • Initiative - Proactive problem solver, takes calculated risks, and seeks opportunities for improvement. • 4-7 years related web development, digital marketing, and/or eCommerce experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, eCommerce, Computer Science, Web Development, or related field Physical Demands • Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day, with walking and standing required frequently • Visual acuity is required to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading documents, reports, and emails • Repetitive hand movements for tasks like typing or assembly • Work Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday • Work Arrangement: Hybrid (onsite Tuesday-Thursday) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
