Role description
Web Developer
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid, 2 days in office per week)
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000
Is your current web development role holding you back?
Do you feel stuck writing messy code, working with outdated projects, or constantly firefighting without the time to do things properly? Are you frustrated by micromanagement, unrealistic hours, or a lack of support for your growth? If that sounds familiar, this could be the role you’ve been waiting for.
What you’ll get
You’ll join a close-knit, down-to-earth digital agency that values clean, scalable code and doing the right thing for clients and for you. You won’t be pressured to work late nights or put in extra hours for the sake of it. Instead, you’ll have flexibility, trust, and space to do your best work within a sensible 37.5-hour week.
What you’ll be doing
• Write clean, maintainable code on WordPress, WooCommerce, and Shopify projects you can be proud of
• Improve site speed, conversion, accessibility, and usability with real impact
• Fix bugs and tackle challenges with the support of your team
• Work with a talented group of designers, developers, and strategists who value collaboration and continuous learning
• Share knowledge and benefit from mentorship opportunities as part of your growth
• Manage a variety of projects so you’re always learning and never stuck in a rut
• Use modern tools like Git in an environment that values your technical skills, not shortcuts
What we’re looking for
• 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience with PHP, HTML, CSS (SASS), and JavaScript
• Strong working knowledge of WordPress and WooCommerce
• Shopify experience is a plus, but can be picked up on the job
• Ability to stay focused while juggling a few projects at once
• Clear, honest communication and a genuine team mindset
• Curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a drive to keep getting better
What makes this different
• Flexible core hours and hybrid working
• Brand-new Mac or Windows laptop of your choice
• £2,000 annual personal training budget
• Loyalty holiday days and a full Christmas shutdown
• Dog-friendly office and weekly team lunches
• Supportive team culture with no egos
• Time and budget for conferences and self-directed learning
• Clear progression and pay reviews based on impact, not politics
Ready for something better?
If you want to work somewhere that trusts you to get the job done, backs your development, and values quality over quantity, we’d love to hear from you. Send over your CV, links to your work, and a few words about what you're looking for
