Position Overview: Sage Marketing Group (SageMG), a boutique, full-service marketing and advertising agency in Fort Collins, CO is looking for a seasoned, results-driven Web Developer. Your dragon-slaying skills will be used to make our clients (and SageMG) shine like the digital rockstars they are. If you want to work continuously on one client or project, please don't apply. Why this Position: Primary workspace at SageMG Old Town Fort Collins HQ. We like each other and work well together. Autonomous work style. Great compensation: Base salary + commission options + annual performance bonus + full benefits and great coverage. $70,000-$85,000 Base DOE. Key Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end development of WordPress and Shopify websites, including custom themes, plugins, and advanced functionality. • Write clean, efficient code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and leverage frameworks such as SASS/LESS, React, and jQuery. • Manage and optimize MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. • Provide expertise in DNS management, hosting environments (SiteGround, WPEngine, Flywheel), and server settings. • Build, customize, and maintain e-commerce solutions, including payment gateways, shipping rules, and tax configurations. • Collaborate with design teams to translate mockups into responsive, pixel-perfect websites. • Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO best practices. • Integrate third-party tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, GoHighLevel, Ontraport), and mailing systems (MailChimp, MailGun, LeadConnector). • Work with LMS platforms such as LearnDash, Thinkific, and Kajabi. • Handle content migrations, CMS setups, taxonomy planning, and client training/documentation. • Ensure accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, and adherence to coding standards. • Oversee website launches with minimal downtime and SEO impact. • Develop custom solutions using REST and GraphQL APIs, including manipulating JSON/XML. Qualifications & Skills • Ideal candidate 3-5 years of experience. • Proven expertise in WordPress and Shopify development. • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and modern frameworks. • Experience with database administration (MySQL/PostgreSQL). • Solid understanding of open-source technologies and community-based development. • Knowledge of hosting, caching, and server environments. • Familiarity with SMTP, mail deliverability, and related systems. • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide creative solutions. • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across design, content, and strategy teams. • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working on a wide variety of projects.
