Position Overview
As the Amazon Merchandise Manager, you will be an essential member of our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) team, responsible for driving revenue and profitability by owning and executing the merchandising and buying strategy for our Amazon business.
This is a unique, hybrid role that requires a blend of strategic thinking, data analysis, and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate is a proven Amazon expert who understands how to build a successful product portfolio, optimize listings, and implement effective merchandising strategies. You will serve as the central point of contact for all product decisions, collaborating with our DTC buying, planning, marketing, operations, and creative teams to meet business objectives.
Responsibilities
Buying & Assortment Strategy
• Own the product assortment on Amazon.com for each of our brands.
• Liaise with DTC buyers on go-forward assortments and collaborate with wholesale planners on replenishment.
• Manage Amazon retail sales performance and seasonal deals, ensuring shipment sales forecasts are met.
• Maintain and update the master assortment file and manage purchase orders.
• Set product pricing based on internal margins and Amazon PPM targets.
• Collaborate with planners on sales forecasts.
• Provide marketing assets and materials to partners.
• Manage monthly bulk discount buys.
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and internal product teams.
• Attend market and vendor appointments.
• Analyze consumer buying patterns, predict future trends, and conduct market research to inform decisions.
Inventory & Reporting
• Manage Amazon inventory, reacting to changes in demand and logistics.
• Work with the planning team on inventory transfers.
• Ensure accurate on-site pricing.
• Maintain organized and accurate records related to orders and vendor communications.
• Generate and analyze various reports, including weekly decks and selling reports, to forecast sales and make data-driven decisions.
• Regularly review performance indicators such as sales and margin to identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• 3+ years of direct experience managing an Amazon business as a Product Manager, Brand Manager, or similar role.
• Demonstrable expertise in Amazon Seller Central or Vendor Central.
• Proven track record of successfully launching and managing products on Amazon 1P or 3P.
• Proven expertise in badge acquisition strategies (Amazon’s Choice/Best Seller) and A+ content creation.
• Deep knowledge of Amazon policies and compliance standards, with the ability to resolve listing issues and maintain account health.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.
• Knowledge of retail math, Open-to-Buy (OTB), assortment planning, and SKU management.
