Lead a small team of in-house developers while actively contributing to the delivery of high-impact software solutions. In this hybrid role, you will be approximately 50–75% hands-on, owning core application components and backend integrations, while also mentoring a team and ensuring project delivery. You will coordinate with business stakeholders, manage vendor relationships (including outsourced RPG development), and help shape the technical roadmap for ecommerce and ERP-related systems. Job Responsibilities: Engineering & Technical Execution • Design, develop, test, and maintain application components in Java, JavaScript, Python, and RESTful APIs. • Implement and support integration pipelines between ecommerce systems, ERP, PIM, and third-party platforms. • Drive performance, scalability, and maintainability through clean code and system design. • Design robust systems with proper logging, error handling, and monitoring. • Write, test, and maintain software (HCL, Java, JavaScript, Python, REST API). • Maintain and enhance file feeds and data pipelines (CSV, XML, JSON). • Tune performance of applications and pipelines for speed and scalability. • Provide DBA support for websites, ERP, and WMS databases (availability, performance, and data integrity). • Support IBM Power systems, including IBMi and AIX. • Deliver on-call support to maintain website uptime and service continuity. Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight • Manage and mentor a team of two in-house application developers, fostering growth and accountability. • Coordinate outsourced RPG resources; ensure delivery quality, timeline alignment, and technical compatibility. • Collaborate with business users, QA, and IT operations to translate functional needs into technical solutions. • Own project timelines, task planning, and technical risk assessments. • Track team performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. • Contribute to long-term planning, continuous improvement, and innovation initiatives. • Evaluate emerging technologies to strengthen architecture, team capability, and software performance. Desired Qualifications: • 5+ years of professional experience in software or application development. • Demonstrated experience in leading small teams or projects while maintaining hands-on technical contributions. • Strong skills in Java and REST APIs, with working knowledge of frontend (JavaScript) and scripting (Python). • Understanding of enterprise application architecture and data integration best practices. • Familiarity with ERP, ecommerce platforms, and IBM Power systems (IBMi/AIX) is a plus. • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to lead delivery from concept to deployment.
