Responsibilities And Qualifications
The Associate Art Director is responsible for contributing to the seasonal art direction, to support the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns and brand assets in support of the company's growth initiatives. Additionally, this individual will assist pre and post production processes.
This role will consist of providing support to the Brand Art Director and Creative Director on all Seasonal Brand Campaign photography shoots, digital asset management, fielding retouching requests, ensuring quality control and brand standards for campaign images, and providing digital-tech support when needed. Reporting into the Art director, this role will manage the workflow (retouching, uploading, and archiving) of all Bonobos campaign photography and motion assets. This role will partner closely with Creative, Production, Marketing, Merchandising, and Ecommerce teams to ensure all photo assets are properly filed, labeled, and easily accessible.
Key Responsibilities
Art Direction, Retouching Guidance, Data Asset Management
• Provides art direction support to the Bonobos Art Director, and aligned with overall brand and creative guidelines, and web/ecommerce performance standards
• Maintains the creative vision for Bonobos, ensuring that all visual content aligns with the brand's guidelines and is consistent with the overall Bonobos brand aesthetic
• Partners with the Art Director to brief and collaborate with internal and external photographers and studio technicians to ensure consistency and quality of all campaign assets including product still photography, motion capture, and on-model
• Supports the Art Director in all efforts in being a conduit between the Bonobos Creative and Brand teams to ensure model selection, hair and makeup, artist selection and guidance, photographer selection, set design, and soft stylist maintains and enhances Bonobos
• Collaborates with Bonobos Marketing team to ensure that creative strategies support and enhance brand messaging and business goals
• Liaise with external retouchers to ensure brand and creative guidelines and standards are met, perform additional corrections to retouched assets (e.g., fixing erroneous colors, matching between laydowns/on model images shot on different days), and also retouching high end editorial photos, as needed
• Manage digital assets by managing the pipeline of campaign photos following shoots: validate that all products from shot list are done, sent out for retouching, set deadlines with retouchers for return, and also processing campaign photos following retouching: crop specialty images using PS, order and rename files, apply metadata, upload to Box, apply organizational structure to facilitate easy access of files
• Support the development and maintenance of Bonobos branded guidelines for both on-figure and product photography
• Stay up to date with emerging trends in design, technology, and e-commerce to ensure that our creative approach remains relevant and competitive
Required Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in photography or liberal arts, or relevant field experience
• 0-3 years experience in similar fields, have worked on / assisted photographers in a digital capacity
• Strong understanding of photography, photo equipment / lighting, and retouching process
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, JIRA, Trello and Global Edit
• Experience working with digital asset management systems and applying metadata to images
