Role description
Associate Buyer, Men’s Shoes, Leathergoods & Kids, the Americas Overview: The Associate Buyer of Men’s Shoes, Men’s Leathergoods and Accessories, and Kids shoes is responsible for creating and developing a merchandising strategy for the Americas region that will achieve the sales objectives for their specific merchandise category or categories, under the direction of the VP or Buying and Planning for the Americas. This includes creating an exciting, timely, and quality product assortment that meets or exceeds the sales volume and profit plans. They intuitively respond to customer feedback, market trends and develop strategic action plans that drive category specific growth, increased profitability, and sell-thru. Product Market Focuses: • Travel to Paris for market (up to 2 x a year) • Develops the buying strategy for each given category every market session to clearly outline the vision of the buy incorporating key brand messages as well as representing product that fulfills specific market needs • Presents buying strategy to buying directors and senior management ensuring comprehensive understanding of the offer and ensuring optimal product mix is assorted • Write final buy taking in all store feedback, market trends, and historical selling trends into account • Analyzes and recaps the final buy after each market, presenting top investments, opportunities and risks to the executive team Additional Merchant Focuses: • Regional store market travel (approximately 4 x a year) • Monitors industry trends and evaluates competition through store and market visits and communicates feedback to global product team on opportunities by category. • Participates in the budget and open to buy forecasting process to determine appropriate sales potential. • Collaborates on buying process and tools that are scalable and relevant to the category of business and channel of distribution. • Analyzes weekly selling reports, seasonal hindsight recaps, and ad hoc reports to drive assortment decisions • Manage ST% of seasonal product by forecasting total ST as well as style by style ST and identifying opportunities + risks accordingly. • Analyze sales trends and use learnings to identify product opportunities – transfers, reorders, etc - trends, and offerings which will impact the business and provide results • Ensure proper management of the category (i.e. deliveries, ST, business needs) through consistent communication and follow-up with Paris office and communicating issues and opportunities to Merchandising & Planning team. • Works cross functionally with ecommerce team, visual, communications, store directors, and client experience teams Skills and Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising or related field required • 4-6 years of experience in Buying, Planning, or similar role, shoe buying experience is preferred • Proficient in all of Microsoft Office/Suite and experienced with excel formulas • Passion for Christian Louboutin and a true ambassador for the brand with strong sense of responsibility • Ideal candidate has work experience in medium sized multinational company or luxury business • Additional language fluency is a plus • Adheres to company policy and confidentiality • Proactively contributes to creating a team atmosphere that is professional, flexible and enjoyable • Collaborative in approach to decision making, able to take in multiple viewpoints and find the best path forward • Exudes a “no task is too big or too small” attitude, with initiative, commitment, reliability, and positivity.
