Role description
The New York Post delivers the best in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture with wit, irreverence and authority. Over the past 224 years, The Post has evolved into a multi-platform media company spanning print, digital, video, audio, app, television and commerce.
The Post Digital Network is a top 10 digital news publisher in the United States. Our brands include the New York Post, Page Six, and Decider.
Commerce at the New York Post sits in the intersection of content and partnerships. We are looking for an Associate, Commerce Partnerships to join a small but mighty team and help assist in growing our partnerships across new verticals, crafting integrated campaign proposals, and increasing revenue from our shopping content through CPA negotiations and creative monetization strategies.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a versatile Associate, Commerce Partnerships who shares a passion for affiliate
marketing and digital sales. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of the digital
landscape and the ability to identify revenue opportunities, and be able to foster strong client
relationships.
Our team is a competitive and agile group that is first to react to market trends and opportunities. We use data-driven insights to guide our decisions, combining sharp instincts and thorough analysis to drive success for both the business and our partners.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Sales and Partnerships growth: within your set of partnerships, you will be responsible for
building and nurturing a pipeline of flat fee business, as well as proactively run point on outreach
and inbound communications, build sales materials as needed, and customize integrated
programs to maximize revenue and deliver on quarterly targets.
● Partnership Management: ensure all elements of IOs are executed on time, documented, and
tracked. Answer all client questions and share pertinent updates, especially when in an active
partnership. Coordinate with other teams, such as editorial, national sales, and audience
development in the sales planning and optimization of programs. Make recommendations as
needed to improve performance and campaign results for our partners. Prepare final reporting
and wrap reports as necessary.
● Revenue optimization: As the owner of key relationships, you will be responsible for negotiating
CPA increases and identifying optimal monetization models to scale revenue for the business.
This includes exploring CPC opportunities, paid social, content licensing, and bonus-structured
partnerships. You will also ensure all affiliate linking opportunities are maximized to the highest
revenue potential on an ongoing basis, working closely with editorial leadership on upcoming
assignments to help weigh in on partnership opportunities for consideration.
● Leverage learnings and insights from the business to identify placement opportunities for new
and existing partners whose performance exhibits signals for potential growth.
● Attention to detail: be another set of eyes on information and details for partner managers to
anticipate needs and ensure optimal partnership and performance.
Requirements:
● Independent: The Associate, Commerce Partnerships should be highly entrepreneurial and
thoughtful and able to work with limited supervision.
● Personable: Strong communication skills and ability to foster professional relationships with
people at all levels.
● Self-starter: You thrive on success and making things happen. You can sense where additional
opportunities may be and will seek them out.
● Strong judgment skills: you can sense when something seems off or needs more thought, and
will solve the problem (or seek the right help).
Qualifications & Skills:
● 3+ years in affiliate or influencer marketing.
● Knowledge of the affiliate marketing landscape and experience using the various popular affiliate
networks.
● Data-focused and ability to draw insights from large amounts of data and information.
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities
effectively.
● Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and people skills.
● Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a passion for client success.
Note: The New York Post adheres to a hybrid work model.
Salary range: $70,000–$80,000, depending on experience.
The role also includes a sales bonus tied to goals, typically around 10–15% of your base salary.
At The New York Post we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, our ranges reflect our good faith estimate to pay fairly as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
In addition to compensation, the company provides eligible employees a comprehensive and highly competitive benefits package, with a variety of physical health, retirement and savings, caregiving, emotional wellbeing, transportation, and other benefits, including “elective” benefits employees may select to best fit the needs and personal situations of our diverse workforce.
As an equal opportunity employer, the New York Post does not discriminate in hiring or the terms and conditions of employment because of an individual’s race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. The New York Post will consider the provision of reasonable accommodations to known physical or mental disabilities of otherwise qualified applicants to enable them to participate in our application process and to effectively perform the essential functions of the job, unless doing so would impose an undue financial or operational hardship.
