Associate Merchant Position Overview Our Furniture Retail client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Merchant to support the creation and execution of product development and assortment strategies. The Associate Merchant will assist in the planning and execution of merchandising strategies to maximize sales and enhance customer satisfaction. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to analyze market trends and data, manage inventory, and support promotional initiatives. This will be a 40hr/week freelance role that is expected to be a 6 month role with opportunity to extend or potentially go full-time. They would prefer someone who can be Hybrid in West Chester, OH but may be open to someone who is fully-remote. Remote candidates must be located in: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina or Texas. Key Responsibilities • Support the Merchant in developing and executing assortment strategies and business plans for specific categories • Analyze weekly performance data, share insights, and recommend actions to drive results • Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Sourcing, Design, and E-Commerce teams to align on product strategies • Manage select categories/products under Merchant guidance, ensuring alignment with brand ethos and customer needs • Coordinate product samples and asset creation to support marketing and merchandising initiatives • Maintain accurate and timely product information for internal teams, including Copy and Creative • Assist in preparing internal presentations and meeting materials for executives and cross-functional teams • Respond to business trends and manage day-to-day operations for assigned categories Qualifications • 1-3 years merchandising experience with demonstrable success. • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Merchandising or related field or Associate's Degree and equivalent experience. • Ability to manage processes and projects with minimal direction. • Detail-oriented and organized. • Shows leadership and problem-solving capabilities. • Ability to work as a team. • Ability to function in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. • Excellent phone, verbal and written communications skills. • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer. • Ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25lbs In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.
