Designation :- Buyer and Planner (Fashion Retail)
Job Purpose :- Responsible for planning and executing product purchases, managing inventory, and analyzing sales across offline and online channels. The role ensures optimal stock levels, timely promotions, and the introduction of new brands aligned with Concepts’ customer base and positioning.
Key Responsibilities/Duties :-
Buying & Brand Development :-
• Plan and execute product purchases in line with sales data, seasonal calendars, and fashion trends.
• Recommend and onboard new brands and collections that fit the Concepts’ positioning.
• Negotiate pricing, order quantities, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier performance and recommend improvements where needed.
Inventory & Planning :-
• Monitor inventory levels across offline and online platforms to ensure balanced stock.
• Forecast and plan purchase orders to avoid overstocking, ageing stock, or stock-outs.
• Identify fast-selling products for replenishment and slow-moving items for clearance, markdowns, or promotions.
• Maintain accurate stock records and support alignment with seasonal launches.
Sales Data & Analysis :-
• Analyze sales performance across categories, brands, and channels.
• Prepare regular reports on sales, inventory turnover, and profitability.
• Use data insights to recommend adjustments in buying strategy and assortment planning.
Promotions & Coordination :-
• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to activate promotions and campaigns at the right time.
• Ensure stock availability supports promotional activities.
• Share insights on product performance to align marketing strategies with customer demand.
Ability & Skills :-
• Strong analytical and numerical ability; advanced Excel skills.
• Commercial mindset with good fashion and trend awareness.
• Effective negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to independently plan and manage purchase orders.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with retail ERP systems is a plus.
Experience :-
• 3–5 years of experience preferably in fashion retail buying, planning, or merchandising.
• Hands-on experience in inventory planning and sales analysis.
• Exposure to both store and e-commerce environments preferred.
Academic Qualifications :- Bachelor’s or Diploma preferably in Retail or related field
Accountabilities and Performance Measures :-
• Forecast accuracy and effectiveness of purchase planning.
• Successful introduction and performance of new brands.
• Sell-through rate and inventory turnover.
• Reduction in ageing and slow-moving stock.
• Supplier delivery timelines and reliability.
