🧠 Turn Data into Retail Impact
We’re seeking a Category Advisor to help shape Walmart’s department-level assortment, inventory, and omni-channel strategy. You’ll work at the intersection of data analytics, merchandising, and eCommerce, translating insights into actions that move the business forward — in stores and online.
💼 What You’ll Do
• Analyze performance data to uncover trends and drive sales across Walmart Stores and Walmart.com
• Build strategic assortment plans based on internal and syndicated data
• Recommend item placement and modular strategies to influence store layout and digital discoverability
• Identify opportunities to leverage in-store inventory to fulfill eCommerce demand (e.g., BOPIS, ship-from-store)
• Partner with Walmart merchant teams, replenishment, supply chain, and retail media groups
• Provide clear, data-driven recommendations during joint business planning with key suppliers
✅ What You’ll Need
• 5–8 years in category management, merchandising, or supplier analytics (CPG or mass retail strongly preferred)
• Strong experience with Walmart Retail Link, Luminate, and syndicated tools (e.g., Nielsen, Circana)
• Fluent in Excel and Power BI; strong data visualization and storytelling skills
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills — you’ll present to senior-level retail partners
• A strategic mindset with a passion for omni-channel retail
🌍 Location & Travel
• Based in New York City
• Travel required to Walmart HQ in Bentonville, ~4x per year, 2–3 days each trip
