The Royal College of Art (RCA) is the worldβs leading university of art and design, renowned for creativity, innovation and impact. We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Shift Supervisor to join our College Shop team at the Battersea campus.
About the Role
In this customer-focused role, youβll help ensure the smooth running of the College Shop β a vital resource for our students, staff, and visitors. Youβll provide expert advice on art, design, and basic construction materials, process sales and online orders, supervise shop assistants, and keep our displays and stock looking their best.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Supervise day-to-day shop operations and sales assistants
β’ Advise customers on specialist materials for creative projects
β’ Process in-person and online orders, manage stock and deliveries
β’ Maintain safe, well-presented, and organised retail spaces
β’ Assist in sourcing new products and creating online product content
About You
Weβre looking for someone with:
β’ Strong retail experience, ideally in art, design or construction materials
β’ Knowledge of wood, metal, and other making materials
β’ Experience with e-commerce platforms and inventory management
β’ Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
β’ A proactive, team-oriented, and customer-focused approach
