Role description
Our client, a leading retail and lifestyle brand, is seeking a skilled Copywriter to join their creative team on a 5-month W2 contract. This role is based onsite in San Francisco, CA, and offers the opportunity to contribute to high-visibility projects across print, digital, and e-commerce platforms. As a Copywriter, you will be responsible for crafting compelling, accurate, and engaging content that aligns with brand voice and resonates with diverse audiences. This includes writing for catalogs, product descriptions, marketing campaigns, and online experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams, attend product and creative meetings, and manage deliverables in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: • Write, edit, and proof content for catalogs, product descriptions, and digital/e-commerce platforms. • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in messaging across channels. • Research and analyze technical product information, using or observing products when possible to inform copy. • Tailor writing to different audiences and media, ensuring brand voice alignment and legal compliance. • Track and manage progress of assigned pages and product content across catalog and internet production cycles. • Attend creative and production meetings, capturing product and process details. • Support broader copy needs, including press releases, internal documents, and marketing collateral. • Collaborate with creative leads and fellow writers, providing proofreading and editing support as needed. • Organize workload to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment. Required Skills & Experience: • BA in English, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, or related field. • Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style to different platforms and audiences. • Excellent grammar, proofreading, and editing skills. • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to both take direction and work independently. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; basic knowledge of desktop publishing software (QuarkXPress preferred). • Familiarity with Mac and/or PC environments. • Knowledge of internet/e-commerce best practices a plus. • Experience writing for advertising, retail, or related industries preferred.
