Creative Marketing Assistant
Location: Fully remote (UK based)
Department: Brand / Marketing
Reports to: Creative Marketing Manager
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About Us
We’re a fast-growing, UK-based direct-to-consumer (DTC) hair care brand, on a mission to empower women to embrace their natural wavy hair.
We’ve built a strong online presence, but now we’re focused on getting the brand out there in more ways. Think social buzz, retail moments and real-life events and experiences that get people talking about Merwave.
The Role
We’re looking for a Creative Marketing Assistant who’s obsessed with how the best brands cut through the noise. You’ve got a sharp eye for design, a creative mindset and a passion for turning bold ideas into real-world content and campaigns.
You’ll be right in the thick of making things happen. Whether it’s planning shoots, helping bring a pop up event to life, or writing punchy email copy. You’ll play a key role in making sure Merwave shows up in the world with creativity, consistency and impact.
You’re full of ideas, thrive on getting stuck into the detail and love seeing projects go from a spark of inspiration to something real. If you’re eager to learn, take ownership and grow in a fast-moving, creative team, you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Creation
• Bring our brand to life daily across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, from idea to post
• Capture and edit scroll-stopping short-form videos, behind-the-scenes moments and trend-led content
• Jump into conversations with our community, replying to DMs, comments, and tags with personality
• Help scout, brief and manage creators
Campaigns, Collabs & Events
• Get hands-on with planning and bringing to life brand campaigns, pop-ups and creative collaborations that get people talking
• Be part of the action on shoot days. Help shape the creative direction, briefing talent, prepping products, and making sure every detail hits the mark
• Help create memorable IRL moments, from planning the vibe to nailing the details at events and activations
Ad Creative & Concepting
• Dream up fresh ad concepts, hooks and angles that stop the scroll on Meta
• Write punchy scripts and creative briefs that help creators bring the vision to life
• Stay plugged into emerging trends, formats and what other brands are doing to break through
Copywriting & Brand Storytelling
• Write captivating blog content that brings our brand voice to life and connects with our audience
• Build email campaigns that grab attention and drive clicks
• Craft sharp, engaging copy for socials, product pages and everything in between
Creative Admin & Organisation
• Keep Notion boards, Google Sheets and content folders tidy and updated
• Liaise with freelancers, creators and editors to chase assets or briefs
Required Skills & Experience
• 1+ year experience in a creative marketing role at an e-commerce brand
• Strong grasp of social platforms. You understand what’s trending, what’s working and why
• Confident using tools like Canva and CapCut (experience with Klaviyo is a plus)
• Able to shoot and edit scroll-worthy content (UGC-style, BTS, product-led etc.)
• Based in the UK and open to travelling for shoots, events and team meetups
You Are
• Creative, energetic and full of ideas
• Super organised, with strong attention to detail
• A proactive self-starter who is happy working remotely
• Fascinated by how great brands earn attention and build loyalty
