Summary of Role/Position
CarParts.com, Inc. is seeking an exceptional Data Analyst with strong experience in data analysis, coding, and visualization, and the ability to transform data into actionable insights that drive business outcomes. In this role, you will leverage data to solve complex challenges across finance, sales, and supply chain by applying analytical, statistical, and computational approaches. As part of the Data Science team, you will contribute to ETL design, assist in building ML and computational models, and develop automated reporting solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong passion for e-commerce and supply chain projects, with an emphasis on optimizing Variable Cost Margin (VCM) and improving freight cost efficiency , and thrives in a collaborative environment, working with stakeholders across multiple domains.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions.
• Leverage PySpark and SQL to process and unify large datasets from multiple sources.
• Design and optimize ETL pipelines for reporting and analytics.
• Apply strong coding skills and analytical thinking to develop scalable solutions.
• Analyze transaction-level data to optimize VCM , improve pricing, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct deep -dive analysis into freight costs, shipping patterns, and operational KPIs to recommend improvements.
• Build dashboards and automated reports to monitor VCM, freight efficiency, and profitability metrics .
• Communicate complex analyses and technical solutions in a clear, business-friendly manner.
Minimal Requirements
• 3+ years of full-time experience in a data-focused role .
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics).
• Strong proficiency in Python with experience in Apache Spark .
• Solid hands-on experience with SQL for large-scale data manipulation.
• Experience designing automated reports and visualizations .
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data analysis to cost optimization and profitability improvement .
Preferred Experience
• Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Economics, Marketing, Business, or another quantitative field.
• Prior experience in e-commerce, retail, or supply chain optimization .
• Familiarity with Databricks and cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience working with VCM, freight cost analysis, or profitability KPIs .
